Heavy Weapons Sentinel!
 

Here are some (crappy) pics of my new build-a Heavy weapons Sentinel.
I figure that this is to Sentinels what war Machine is to Iron Man- and really, I always thought Sentinels were way under-armed to fight today's mutant powerhouses so....

This bad boy is made from a Sigma Six Duke 8" figure with a boatload of model and toy parts added in, plus some GI JOe vehicle stickers- those always add to a robot or mecha build!

I said in the other thread, I'll say it here, that is sick, in a good way. Makes me want to make an Omega Sentinel custom. What are you using for metallic paints?

The paints are just these cheapie Folk Art dollar paints from Michaels- I'll have to post their exact names tomorrow.
I used the same blue and purple on my Kree customs- it dries super shinely with no brush strokes at all!
I used their brass on my Iron Man of 2020 and their gold on my classic avengers Iron Man and they look great.
IfI can score another comic version Iron Monger, I might paint him that same metallic blue...

I've got an armored Core figure I might make a Sentinel...those figs rock for posability!
So does this Sigma Six Duke though-
I'll try and post a pic of this guy nut-punching Giant Man...maybe grabbing him with that BAT claw on the tenticle...

I will have to look into those, I need a good metallic green for my phoenix

Awesome work JA as always. Was thinking to get those 6/8 inch Real Steel mechs before to turn em to sentinels but didnt know if it would work.

What a great figure, got to check it out today first hand. Jason did a top job, the metallic paints are smooth as glass. Lots of details to look at in person too, just a kick ass job he did there! It would be cool to see one or two more with variant weaponry, heh....;)

The paints are by Folk Art- their metalic green and red are awesome- just primer in light grey or white first and dont get discouraged if you need to brush on a couple of coats to get the right look- this Sentinel has two coats at least.

BigHanksCustoms just gave me TWO more Duke figures! ('cause he's The Man!)
I think one will be a companion to this guy and the second will either become the Omega type shown in early New Mutants (all grey and blue instead of purple) or I'll get nuts and make the Captain America Sentinel from the Days of Futures Past RPG suppliments.
In that future, Sentinels that killled a hero would be repainted to match that hero's look as a morale killer.

Plus it looks creepy as helll!:thumbs

I have a Real Steel Zues body outfitted with these segmented Zaku arms with big bladed claws for hands- looking for a good head though!
If I can swing it, I can cast the head from the smaller Heroclix Sentinel and maybe use that...

Those Real Steel bodies rock- and the swappale arms and legs would be great for variants!

You should totally do it! I can use Photoshop to combine a bunch of people's Sentinels into one big scene of mutant-killing love!
