Oh why oh why do they forgo the articulation n the line? It's Spiderman fer chrissakes. If any line should have articulation at the knees, ankles and wrists it is this line. It is piss poor that Marvel U's House of M and Black Suited Spiderman kick this line's ass all day long.

Interesting. It's kinda sad, imo, to see so few villains, yet so many different variations of Spider-Man. Battle Glider Spider-Man looks interesting, so I may get him, but the lack of knee articulation does bother me. If I can find a red & black suited Marvel Universe Spider-Man, I'll just get him instead. The only figure in this entire line that is a must-have, is Venom. All the others are easy passes for me.

That Hobgoblin looks embarrassingly horrible.

I like them, but yes more articulation would have made them better.

As has been said time and time again, these are designed for small kids, hence all the gimmicks like waterpacks and lightup eyes and shit. That's what sells to kids.

Actually that's probably not true. This is a 3 3/4" version of their 6" Spider-Man line, which did very well.

Oh I agree and understand but it seems to me that the money they could spend doing that little bit of articulation in addition might be offset by an increased purchase from the collector market. I never cared about the goofy accouterments (same as the GI Joe line) b/c they can all go in the trash or the customizing (chum) bucket but that little bit of extra articulation would get me to buy the toys in addition to the kids. I do also realize that the collector market is not the big spender that the kids market is yet I wonder what the dollar trade-off vs articulation would be in that scenario? Anyone on this board work for a Hasbro or similar type company that can comment? I know the base answer will be the added expense but I am really curious to know if volume of sales (ie a small bump up from collectors) can actually offset something like that without raising the price of the toy.

At least the first 2 waves had one figure I wanted. This whole wave blows.

My Wal Mart already has Spider-vision and "Tentacle rape" Spider-man, that's what I call him because I think it was a stupid idea for a figure.

Just keep telling yourself... they're just for kids... because if you try to use any common sense to explain how f***ing pathetic they are, I guarantee you someone will throw that explanation in your face, anyway.

That doesn't act as logic behind any of the sculpts being bad. But is IS reasoning behind all the figures being gimmicky with a low amount of articulation.

No offense, Enigma2K2, but every single one of your posts are incredibly negative. Even when you do try to say something positive you end it with some kind of complaint. I'm not trying to talk s**t about you or anything, but you seem so damn unhappy about everything. You should watch "The Secret" :)

Saw Venom yesterday. I thought he was pretty cool. I didn't buy him, but still might....

I bought Venom at WM for the Hell of it last Saturday.

Hey, if the figures are lacking, the figures are lacking. Don't get mad at me because it's true. Spider-Man Classics figures used to be BETTER than this.

And if I'm not deserving of a response, here's a little advice to the both of you... don't respond to me.

I passed up Venom last week because of the articulation. They had at least 4 at the time and I thought I'd take a day or two to think about it. When I went back, there wasn't a single figure from the line on the racks. I guess Hasbro knows what it's doing.

Spiderman Classics was better under Toy Biz. At least most of the time, articulation was preserved, and character selection was okay. I should have bought more Toy Biz figures a few years back. Too bad the quality was all over the place.

My fav was Web Trap Spider-Man back in the day, although I can't remember what line he was in. Always wanted Spider-Carnage, but never got him.

He was part of Spider-Man Classics (see thumbnail).

One of my favorites from that line was the Hobgoblin. Much more sinister than usual, which I liked.

I had the Spider-Carnage, and he was one of the coolest figures from the transition period between the 5 inch scale and the Marvel Legends line. He broke apart when I accidentally dropped his storage bin, and I haven't replaced him. I would love to see a modern version. Maybe he's the figure no one would expect from the MU rumors :).

I finally picked up some of the first wave spideys the other day, and I'm really struggling with the lack of elbow and knee articulation for the gimmick figures. Some of the extra goofy costumes are pretty cool, but ultimately that lack of articulation kills these. I hope this changes in future waves.

I also picked up the super posable Spidey, and I would recommend him to anybody that hasn't picked up a MU version, or anybody that's not satisfied with the MU figure. He doesn't have waist articulation, but it's a more slender sculpt and cleaner paint aps. I think it's a definite win over the MU Spidey.

When can we expect Wave 2? I just want Rhino.

Which one is super posable spidey?

I believe he's in wave 1, though I can't seem to a pic of him at the moment.
