can someone pls tell me the relationship between hottoys and sideshow? why do they seem to be having the same licenses and similar products?

Sideshow is a North American distributor of Hot Toys' products. That's really about it.

As for similar products, well that's a different thing all together. They both cater to high end collectors of popular and pop culture related brands. So they have licensed many of the same brands such as Marvel, Star Wars, etc.

There's definitely more to it than that. I believe they collaborate on a number of products. Even the underlying Prometheus body that Sideshow uses for their 1/6 scale figures was co-developed with Hot Toys. You'll even find the Hot Toys logo on the boxes of many of the armored Star Wars figures.
