SDCC 2012 Exclusive TMNT Shadow Leonardo

Seems to me like it's based on the character design for this. It is a LOT different, but it may be what they were going for.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Dark Horizons | Play Kids Games | Nick Games

Awesome

Crazy Jetty 07-09-2012 05:50 PM

I think I like it. IMO, this is the perfect kind of convention exclusive. Something that's both special and unique, while being very nice to own.
Something I would want very much if I was there, but would not drive me crazy not being able to get one, not being able to go.
Having it would make me feel like I have a very special piece in my collection, but not being able to get it, neither would I feel there was a gaping hole that'll never be filled (Unlike the 4" Green Lantern twopack and the entire "scale that will be convention exclusive").

kenm2474 07-09-2012 05:52 PM

Not Diggin it.

You don't know how much I agree with you right now.

Yeah. I can only imagine how some people must feel with the MU X-Force and Masters of Evil sets.
That would drive me crazy. The MoE almost does and I don't even collect MU. (It's something that I would actually pick up if I found it in retail)

ersico 07-09-2012 06:13 PM

I Want it. Will it be available online after the con like Hasbro does

T16skyhopp 07-09-2012 06:16 PM

Meh. I'm torn.

I like the idea and the contrast (the colors themselves are sweeeeeet) but forced shadowing just doesn't work for me on 3d objects. You can do some light shading to bring out detail but taking a 3d object and using paint to say THIS PART IS IN SHADOW AND YOU CAN NEVER SEE IT NO MATTER WHAT LIGHTS YOU HAVE WHERE just doesn't work as an effect.

I still kinda like it, because the colors themselves are rad. But I feel like unless you put it in the back of a shelf and never move it, the effect will just look awkward.

Either way, I'd pass at $20. Hasbro made too many exclusives I need this year to even look at other offerings :P

I collect MU but I'm not interested in the MoE set (that X-Force is ML scale btw). I'm more of the agreement of those GLs though. Hnnnngh.

Crazy Jetty 07-09-2012 06:52 PM

Oh yeah! Legends! I'm so used to those not being around anymore.
The MoE appeals to me because I loved the original Thunderbolts.

Paxtin 07-09-2012 07:25 PM

lol I saw a preorder listing for this on eBay a few days ago and thought: "Is this news? Should I make a posting?...Nah, probably already is."

Doh!

Yeah, I'd say that's kind of how I feel about it.

We would rather have the SDCC exclusive look exactly how it does in the game. We'll probably paint our second set of turtles like that if we ever find them
.

Playmates has never really been one for accuracy.

They didn't show anything new, toy wise. Nickelodeon posted the panel for the show and some clips though. TMNT at SDCC: New info and videos released for Nick’s upcoming toon! – RRR Otoku
