Battle at the Sarlacc Pit (Target Excl)

3 Attachment(s)
I purchased this Exclusive Battle Pack at Target today. COST = $62.00

It is really cool with the exception of the fact they are all repaints and that Luke looks like the dopiest version I have ever seen (see photo). It almost looks like a generic rip-off of the origional figure.

The Sarlacc itself is very, very cool. It comes with a skiff which is always a cool toy.

For some reason I can only get one of my 3 photos to attach. I will try to add the rest as comments.

darthdoug 11-30-2008 04:11 PM

Unfortunately, I cannot get the next 2 pics to post. There is no more room for photo memory on this Thread. If anyone has a solution on how to upload multiple pics please let me know.

Ktulu 11-30-2008 04:28 PM

That Luke looks positively frightened

Flint 11-30-2008 05:10 PM

For some odd reason I like the fact that it looks like the version from 1983. Maybe that one just got a bad paint application.

So who else is in this set?

Runamuck 11-30-2008 05:23 PM

LOL @ the expression on his face. Bewildered Luke!

Yes, who else is in the set?

darthdoug 11-30-2008 05:43 PM

There is a weequay who has all new paint schemes. There's Boba Fett flying on his JetPack through the air. Luke is on the plank (maybe why he looks so scared) and there is Lando in skiff disguise. There's Han Solo too. The figures are all pretty blah to me. I mean the new paint app on Weequay is fine but the same old molds for all the rest. Boba Fett is the Saga version with one articulated knee. The real reason that this set is so awesome is the sarlacc and the skiff. They are by far the coolest.

There was also another Battle Pack for clone wars but I'll wait for that to go on clearance. $68 (after tax) is a lot of CASH for repaints.

If anyone can help me figure out why I can only get enough memory for one pic I would be glad to add the other two. It displays quite nicely.

MegaPrime33 11-30-2008 05:50 PM

Yeah the expression on Luke is really weird. Seems really dopey. I love the skiff. I totally should have bought it when it first was released.

PM me with the pictures and I can add them to this thread.

He does. You should see the skin tone. Seems like he's dying of jaundice or something. (I'm guessing what that their skin would look wierd) haha.

I tried but the PM does not allow me to attach photos. I can email them to someone. Maybe there's a bandwidth issue. It says you only have so much room for a picture attachment and one alone took up most all of that room. Even now I cannot attach a pic. I should try one on another thread.

Moderators? Any help here?

He should, after seeing the highly suggestive Sarlacc.

darthdoug 12-01-2008 05:55 PM

I have 2 more pics coming. Special thanks to Moderator VADERQUEST for offering to post them for me.

MegaPrime thanks to you too. VaderQ got to me first. If he doesn't get them on then I'll hit you up. I appreciate both of you guys.

darthdoug 12-01-2008 08:37 PM

Yo! VaderQuest!

Where's my pics man? haha. I promise guys, they're coming.

darthdoug 12-02-2008 07:20 PM

OK, the MOD couldn't get the pics to post. I'm going to have to take new pics & repost them. I'll update once I have that completed.

Here is one of em, going to try to post the second one!

vadersquest 12-02-2008 07:34 PM

Yes! I got them to upload. I had to resize them just a bit and vala, we have pics! Sorry I did not think of that sooner DarthDoug.

I tried that. It did not work.

Thank you Vader for the help getting those posted.

So there you have it... the Ultimate SW Battle Pack for the Sarlacc Pit.

I saw one more today at a local Target. Other than that I don't see any others. I'm wondering if this will be as popular as last year's HOTH Battle Pack. What do you think?

Flint 12-03-2008 06:15 AM

If I pick up that thing I would leave it boxed up, makes a nice display. The Sarlacc is bad ass, it looks hungry for some Fett.

MegaPrime33 12-03-2008 06:47 AM

Its actually not bad of a set. If I were still collecting SW I would grab this in a heart beat. Glad to see you got the pics up bro!

darthdoug 12-03-2008 05:43 PM

Thanks, MP.

Yes this does display nicely. It seems every TARGET has one of this and one of the Clone Wars UBP on the shelves. Anyone see these out in the wild yet? I've seen it 3 times now. I don't think they'll last long. I'm hoping with the economy the way it is H-Bro will cut back and make it more rare since people are not buying expensive items this year (FTMP).

Eopie Herder 12-05-2008 03:40 PM

I have to say that I am terrible disappointed in this set. Not only do the figures look like poo, but it's 63.00 freakin' dollars? That's crap. What's worse is that I have been looking forward to this since it was unvieled at Comic-Con. My favorite scene from Star Wars, and it's overpriced as hell.

vadersquest 12-05-2008 04:18 PM

PLUS the weapons are all poo. The one I saw today, all the weapons were bent all to high heaven and the paint apps were bad. I wanted this set but NOT for the price. I might try and snag one when they hit clearance.

If they make it to clearance. Bent weapons do kinda suck. I wish at those prices the quality control was better.

darthdoug 12-05-2008 06:11 PM

That is true. My Weequay is holding his weapon and it is bent like silly string between his two hands. F-Hasbro!

MegaPrime33 12-05-2008 07:44 PM

Hopefully all of these pricey, mediocre sets will hit clearance and become worthy of my money.

SydneyY 12-06-2008 06:21 AM

I bought the original set, and I regret that I opened it. Kept the packaging for so long, too. Not sure if I should get this for sarlacc, but it looks nice!
