Woman and son steal $2M in toys

Blowing up on yahoo. I don't know if my link will show up. Mods, if I'm in the wrong spot or if this is a repeat topic, please move/delete.

Deputies: Fla. woman, adult son stole $2M in toys - Yahoo! News

FancyPants 08-13-2012 01:22 PM

For a second there I thought this thread was going to be about me. dodged a bullet there ;)

Dark Hayabusa 08-13-2012 01:23 PM

Does this mean stores will now be on the look out for toy swappers?

scottmurdock 08-13-2012 01:23 PM

No, Fancy, they're not on to us yet. Though that old lady wig is super uncomfortable :D

Tiberius 08-13-2012 01:23 PM

WOW!!! Clever, but not...

megajonzero 08-13-2012 01:27 PM

Haha fools

Optimus Vader 08-13-2012 01:29 PM

Hilarious.

Whenever I hear these stories, or see packages in stores with missing contents, I'm always wondering where these people do this stuff. I can't go two minutes in a TRU without being checked on. There's always kids and parents running around.. where do you sit and do this? It's not like pulling figures out of plastic bubbles, or moving Legos around, is a silent act.

Shawn Woodbeck 08-13-2012 01:30 PM

What a scam!! Why didn't I think of that? :D kidding

trebleshot 08-13-2012 01:47 PM

Not really about toys themselves, so moved to GD.

As for the topic, I love how he still tried to use the Rewards card all the while he was ripping off TRU.

scottmurdock 08-13-2012 01:48 PM

Thanks, treble.

bmorr 08-13-2012 03:32 PM

what pieces of scum these people are. fuck em.

RatTrap 08-13-2012 03:59 PM

If he had just bought the items and turned around and sold them at a higher price he would have turned a profit. This idiot, and his mother, just got greedy.

jesterkiller 08-13-2012 08:14 PM

this happens all the time at work. thieves are not dumb by any means. just cocky as hell.

DogFashionDisco 08-13-2012 10:13 PM

Well shit, I just posted about this in the swapper thread. I agree that it would seem unlikely that they could pull this off, I too am pestered like crazy anytime I walk into a TRU. This kind of explains why though...... and how did they afford to travel so extensively? I mean Hawaii? This is one crazy story.
