They seriously need to hire a new face sculptor. Shepard and Ash look like they've sick in bed for weeks.

I wish Shepard's armor had more red highlights and Shepard could at least be salvaged by at LEAST a helmet! I don't see any point in NOT using a helmet in ME3!

Also, yeah a new sculptor might be good, Ash's face looks more cartoony in a cute anime style kind of way, and it throws off the look, because everything else looks realistic.

Well... Garrus looks okay...

Well, I WAS going to collect these. But if those heads are going to stay that ugly, it's officially a pass for me.

Honestly to me it seems more like the paint is whats making these look kind of crapy, more then the sculpt. That paint detailing just looks surprisingly amateur for play arts figures.

Shepard head is crap. You may be right about the Ashley head.

Somethings not right with those faces... those where NOT what was shown at the con.

Won't get them either way though hahaha.

I guess. Though a lot of that still looks more like bad paint to me then anything else. I mean even the paint on Garrus's head looks really off. Like the paint is just slathered on over the detail. Ash looks like she's wearing bad 80s eyeliner.

Also, I never played Shepart with his default head, so I don't really have any real recollection of it in detail.

Color me surprised...

Now I'm pretty apprehensive about upcoming Kai figures. Please, oh please don't screw up Fem-Shep & Vergil!!

IMO, I think Koto's biting off more than they can chew and quality's getting a beating in the process. Feels like they're debuting Kai figures every other week. Slow down a bit and chill maybe?

Those faces look a lot worse than the earlier photos. Yikes...

If they had Kaiden and Liara in the line-up I'd get them all. As it is, I don't really care for collecting some of the characters if I can't have my favorites in there as well.

The faces's would look better if they would lay off the goddamn air brushing.

The anime style is fine with me although they could have stuck closer to the original game art work. I guess that's what happens when you get a Japanese version of a Western character.

For example, Snake looks like he stepped off of the box art, but is based off of Yoji Shinakawa's anime inspired but still somewhat realistic art style.

But back to my main point. That's like the Achilles Heel of the entire Play Arts Kai line. I don't know why they insist on airbrushing the faces like they fell face first into a puddle of mud. I'll still get them though. Love the line and the game.

And Raiden looks freakin' PERFECT.

These are so, so disappointing. I had Garrus pre-ordered and have now cancelled him, because they just look dreadful!

Definitely a paint issue because the sculpts are fantastic.

Shepard is the worst - he looks like Prince!

I'm one of the biggest Mass Effect fans around but I can't afford these. Thanks for making everything cost prohibitive these days. It made it a lot easier to quit collecting.

Ashley looks acceptable, but too "animesque".

Garrus is fine, apart from them going overboard with the weathering and filling in every. Single. Pockmark on his face.

Shepard... Okay, the DC Direct/Big Fish version has a MUCH more accurate head/face sculpt than this. At like half the price and quality.

They look like they have been up for a week on meth.
