Well, I know what I'm going to do with my tax return next year. This and the Ravage/Rumble MP set should set me up just fine.

Ya it is! If it was Hasbro I would be all over it...but have to stick with one brand line or I would be so broke!

It's practically identical to the Hasbro release (from what I can tell), so technically it would still be under one line: Transformers. ;)

I just don't know about this one. As a big TF fan and former collector, Fort Max is the holy grail for that line. So that part of me wants to buy this yesterday. But the other part of me thinks $350 for a single toy is a bit much. I can get a tablet for that much money. It's a tough call for me.

Makes me glad I sold mine when I did.
The aftermarket value on this guy is going to drop ungodly fast now at least by near half.

$350 is a disgusting price. Their trying to rape people with the fact that you can go drop a grand+ on the G1 or you can get this one for $350. Makes it seem like it's a deal. I want this bad as it would look great next to my Scorponok, but I wouldn't pay a dime over $120.

Considering the going rate on used out of box is 350-650, 350 new is a pretty damn good price for this guy.

The downside is of course the aftermarket though.
At 350 new, the aftermarket used will drop to comparable. Probably around 150-250. While classic MIB will probably drop down to the 500-800 range. Maybe even farther.

So all in all, if you don't already have one, once this hits is a good time to buy one. Either used discounted, or new for the used price. If you already owned one, and wanted to cash in someday... Sorry, but you just got stuck holding him for another decade+ if you want any decent money out of him.

I know a lot of people will buy this, but I have a strong feeling it will go on clearance at some point in the future. BBTS will order a ton of them, but at that cost, they definitely won't sell them all. FM is a huge toy in a huge box and having a lot of them take up valuable warehouse space is not good business. They will clearance them at some point. Probably bring them down to 299 or a bit less. I mean look at Piranacon and how they basically took a bath on it.

It's definitely possible.

But again, in a market where the original is going for upwards of 900 and more, and used sells almost instantaneously all the way up to 650...

I don't expect them to be knocking the prices down anytime soon on the reissue, though with the aftermarket price shift that'll happen because of it, maybe more will switch to used which will cause a backlog of new that creates an overstock situation. That's at least 2 years down the line though. Maybe a year and a half. With how much demand is behind this guy, I'm not sure if the stock will last that long. Especially with how much fans are willing to spend on 3rd party products in comparison. (600 for not-Devs, and Maximus is over twice that size.)
