Marvel Universe Mr. Hyde

His latest costume from Dark Avengers 181 has reminded me of his buffed appearance in Young Avengers #8, so I created combination of these two. I contemplated painting body hair on him, but I was not satisfied in any method I tried.

Real nice job on this- you just need to find him a little hat to cement his identity as Hyde-the whole "torn us clothes on a super steroid man" thing is a pretty broad field of characters....
You just need to make the entire rest of the Thunderbolts to put with him!
Or better still! Make a custom beat the hell-out-of-Jarvis and beat-into-a-coma Hercules (when that fig comes out in a couple of months) at his feet and put him with the Masters Of Evil!

Huh. The more I see it, the more it resembles hyde and the more I really like it! Did you sculpt the hair on?
For chest hair, I'd get a coarse round brush (from an art store- but dont pay more than five for it) and drybrush the hair color into the middle of his chest, getting lighter as it moves outward.
Maybe add some back hair too- he's freakin' Mr. Hyde after all! He should be the animalistic aspect to the man's psyche.

Hmmmm....you could add a thin, torn up green tie around his neck. That would drive home his identity, I think.

Also, great job on the painting here- very nice shading!
What did you use? How's the paint-rub on it?

Pretty epic, dude. You took a terrible figure and made it look badass. Superb work on the flesh tones, too.

Thanks a lot for compliments :) I actually tried to sculpt his bowler hat, but for some reason it looked like old lady's hat. :) I will probably try something like opera flat top hat, Hyde is sometimes pictured with that verion on his ugly head.

Yes, the hair is sculpted. I used Tamiya Epoxy Putty. It is quite difficult to get Apoxie here in Europe.

I tried exactly this approach, however it looked unnatural -like the figure is scratched, so I gave up. Maybe if my painting skills were better... :o

Actually this is quite a good idea, I will definitely try it, thanks!

again thanks fo compliment. :) I used several thin coats of Vallejo Model Color Basic Flesh, then Dark Flesh for wash, then Basic Flesh again for drybrushing.

Because the base figure is so bulky, it has rather giantish joints - I had to sand down all of them. I also applied suprglue shield almost everywhere - and I must say it is great - so far no paint rub at all.
