Tiberius 10-23-2012 10:25 AM

I have a bunch of them, they;re a little smaller then the 1/144 HG, but not by much. Actually the 1/144 00 Gundam, and the RD 00 Gundam are the same size. So I guess it depends on the suit.

Dark Hayabusa 10-23-2012 11:50 AM

Finally a chance at a Tallgeese

rodimus15 10-23-2012 02:14 PM

NICE! Its not a Heavyarms or Deathscythe but a sweet figure nonetheless.

No way man, as a proud owner of the tallgeese II, I can tell you no one is letting theirs go, for no less then 120$ or their grail figure. If even that.

This tallgeese I is amazing though, going to pose him next to Treize's suit, And since he's a standard release, I'm going to enjoy buying him for 40-45$ on amazon, with free shipping. Oh yeah, I'm liking this.

lanternjv37 10-23-2012 04:42 PM

hahaha cool.

Those are the two I really want as well. I almost bought the HCM Pro Heavyarms but I waited and prices got way too high. I heard they weren't that nice anyway.

Yeah, Amazon is the place to go. I usually buy figures off sites like Amiami and HLJ but I plan on changing that to support Bluefin.

Yeah I cant wait to see those 2 guys. More EW suits would be great too. I'm really glad I started collecting this line. Never a bad figure.

I'm not a big fan of the EW designs, except maybe Deathsythe and TG III. I guess the feathers on Wing Zero sum it up for me. That stuff worked better in G Gundam and there was no reason given why all the suits looked completely different from the series.

I still haven't picked up any of the Damashii figures because I'm afraid how much i will spend. If I can limit it to the original five Gundam Wing suits I will be okay maybe. Gotta get that Sandrock. I've been trying to snipe a Wing Zero at a good price but my limit is always too low.

I'm the complete opposite. I love the EW designs. The idea was that the gundams always looked like that. I go agree with the feathers though. It looked cool but wtf?!

My goal was to limit myself to EW figures but as of now there are only 2 figures and no upcoming releases. So after I saw Epyon I caved and decided to pick up the rest of the upcoming figures. Nataku is on the way right now. I passed on wing zeros initial release. thankful hes being re-released next month.

Iceman 10-23-2012 06:16 PM

I know they were pretending that was just the way they always looked but it just didn't make sense to me as a continuation of the series. As a stand alone movie they would be cool enough but since they made it in the Gundam Wing universe it takes you out of it a bit. I mean, they didn't change the Leo's or anything else. They just wanted to sell more models lol. I did like the design of the enemy suits in EW a lot better.

lanternjv37 10-23-2012 06:17 PM

the serpents were awesome and I loved Heavy Arms's design...I just wasn't a fan of the angel wing zero even though alot ofpeople loved it

I HATE Tallgeese 3. Don't know why but to me it looks confused. Give me Tallgeese I/II any day. Even Epyon lol. I really love Heavy Arms Deluxe aaand Deathscythe Hell Custom.

I LOVE Tallgeese 3! In term of the figure though, theres much to be desired. Not sure if hes anything like Tallgeese 2 but he struggles to aim his riffle properly. The lack of an "on" heat whip was disappointing as well. I've grow to love the figure but it could have been much better. Tallgeese 1 looks really promising though. Accurate or not, neck articulation in Talllgeese 1 and the leo's is a huge improvement, imo.

TheLoudMaster 10-23-2012 09:00 PM

Bandai is starting to really burn a whole in my front pocket. At this rate I'll need to start selling my fillings.

But YES TALLGEESE I. THIS IS A GLORIOUS DAY. Gonna have to prolly not preorder this thing though. And I love Tallgeese III. Its mix and match look is pretty cool for me at least.

LipSmack 10-23-2012 09:04 PM

Man I'm so excited for this, have 2 of each wing suit so far, might go 3 with this one though. Really thinking heavyarms is after this as that was a pretty epic fight and they usually get paired up, and then deathscythe hell. Will be the ultimate release!! Man I'm happy

LipSmack 10-23-2012 09:11 PM

Oh and just noticed they fixed the head problem with the 2 and 3. Now it turns like the one from the people expansion set

Toonami - Gundam Wing 2 Minute Promo (1080p HD) - YouTube
Toonami - Endless Waltz Long Promo (1080p HD) - YouTube

This is what got me into Gundam in the first place. So I have to get all my favorites from Gundam Wing.

Almost all are smaller than 1/144, yet bigger than MSiA! figures(though I am not sure if they are the same size as EMSiA!.

True. I get the feeling Deathscythe will be out later on but not soon.

Amazon...free shipping...I forgot about that! Thanks for mentioning it.

The HCMpro figures were aimed at fans who liked the old 1/72 HCM figures. HCM is basically a line of figures with the detail and feel of completed models with enough durability to be handled more often, yet not as often as toys. Weird but I can see what Bandai was aiming for. The main draw to HCMpro over MSiA! was the fact that HCMpro used predominantly ABS/hard plastic while MSiA! used predominantly PVC which was prone to warping and bending.

When ROBOT Damashii came on the scene, the main draw was that it was a mix of plastics but not predominantly PVC. It's like a spiritual successor to MSiA! but with more harder plastic and better articulation. It seems to be the "go-to" line for mecha action figures by Bandai, like their S.H. Figuarts line is for live-action/tokusatsu/anime/manga characters while D-Arts is for video game characters.

The big difference between the initial designs/Endless Waltz and TV series was the designer; Hajime Katoki designed the initial/EW designs while long-time Gundam designer(he designed the original and many Gundams since the original) Kunio Okawara did most of the TV designs. Though Tallgeese was all Katoki IIRC.

This is why many of the Endless Waltz designs look like the original offscreen designs. Many of the original designs have been altered for that EW manga that features said designs(I have no idea when the hell that one takes place nor know much about it, but the recent Master Grades are based on it).

Katoki aimed to make the Endless Waltz designs more feminine than Okawara's TV designs. Note the shorter torsos, small waists, long legs, cherub wings, smaller heads, et al.

Like you, I worry about how much I will spend in the line, because one figure at least is $30+. Collecting was much easier with MSiA! because they used to be $15 at most at KB toys back when it was around. Sign of the times I guess. However these Robot Damashii figures are much better than MSiA! so, well that does amount to something.

Well I always saw the EW designs as upgraded forms, hence the Custom designation. However it's typical for anime to have different forms in movies/OVA's. For example, how the guymulefs differed in the Escaflowne movie and TV series.

I dug it because it looked like an ultimate MS for Zechs; Tallgeese + Epyon.

True I need both. III was BAD ASS in EW. OPERATOR WIND FTW

You know, that is a great point and I would not be surprised if you were right. That was one of the best episodes too. Knowing Tamashii Heavy Arms will have a swappable severed arm and Wing 1's beam saber.....

...and there we have it folks, maybe Heavy Arms and Wing Gundam 1 are next...

Head problem?

LipSmack 10-24-2012 09:53 PM

Yeah on the tallgeese 2 and 3 the head is attached to the clavicle piece, which really restricts head movement side to side the changed it with the Leo's expansion set head and now on this, im liking it

Well, it's supposed to be like a mix of Tallgeese and Epyon. I do prefer the TG I/II though.

Heavyarms Custom is cool but I felt like it was a bit too much going on (90's extreme style) and I liked the color scheme on the series Heavyarms (my favorite Gundam). If it still had the knife and shield somewhere it would be more practical.

Back in like '00/'01 when these started to come out most were like $10 where I lived in Colorado. The US MSIA was the first toy line I actively collected without realizing it as I was too young to think of such things. I ending up with over a hundred of those things. I had probably every single US release, at least all the U.C. stuff. Had most of the G-Gundam and Gundam Wing ones too. A lot of them I found at various stores like Media Play for $5. Those were the days. If I ever saw those things on shelves again I'd probably cry a little for the nostalgia. They were good for their time but not great figures. I do miss my army sometimes.
