Star Trek Into Darkness figures

Do you guys know if there will be actual figures besides those stupid kreos?

Crazy Jetty 12-06-2012 03:07 PM

"Stupid kreos?' The Kreos are some of the toys next year I'm most looking foreward to.

So far, all we know for certain is that Hasbro has the lisence for Kreos. It's only rumored that they have the master lisence for action figures.

However, I'm sure some toys will pop up somewhere. Each trek movie brings new merchendise. Usually in the form of toy ships and props.

Phantomcrow 12-06-2012 03:47 PM

but the Star Trek toys for the first movie were TERRIBLE, just let Diamond select or someone do them, so we can get good sculpts or something.

Those were playmates. Playmates doesn't seem to have the lisence anymore.
And besides, just because they halfassed it in the first one, doesn't mean they wouldn't learn their mistakes for the second.

Yes. Stupid kreos.

The point was to say what's stupid to you is great to others. Looots of people have been looking foreward to these "stupid kreos" for decades. And all we've seen is one ship, with no idea of what's actually in store. So, far from stupid.
I've been making Star Trek out of Legos since the early ninties. And now we've got Star Trek, Transformers, Doctor Who, and Star Wars all in completely compatable lines.
Only missing Stargate, or else we'd have all the major scifi brands.

May not be your cup'a, but may want to think more about the words you throw around. Don't like them, it's your opinion. I can't stand Prime or Fall of Cybertron toys, and sometimes am quite vocal about it, but I wouldn't call them "stupid," because there are plenty of people who love them.

Neat.

Quasimodo 12-06-2012 05:41 PM

Mr brains is on Santana naughty list now. :p
Anyway I hope we get some 1:18 size figures for this movie! I'd love to have a Spock and kirk

Ninjinister 12-06-2012 06:16 PM

What's a Kreos?

Crazy Jetty 12-06-2012 06:22 PM

Kreos are Hasbro's version of Legos. So far they've only done Transformers and Battleship, but announced around SDCC they have Trek now.
They have no generic sets like Legos and seem to rely exclusively on lisences (Which will kill you in the building block isle).
Their minifigures are a bit more versatile than Legos, allowing things to be clipped onto arms and legs, with more accessories. They also have ball joints at the hip and shoulders.

They are quite neat looking. Is there a release date?

Mrbrains 12-06-2012 06:55 PM

 The Enterprise!

Crazy Jetty 12-06-2012 07:18 PM

if there's an announced release date, then i either don't know it, or don't remember it.

Crazy Jetty 12-06-2012 08:58 PM

What I hope, is that Hasbro indeed has the Trek actionfigure lisense... and they give it to their Star Wars team.
I think at this point, it probably wouldn't hurt the SW brand to be scaled back a bit, and a 100% compatable trek line would be the wet dream of many hardcore scifi geeks out there.

Jason Abbadon 12-06-2012 09:51 PM

I seriously doubt we'll see any trek figures this time out- the last line is still gathering dust in my local TRU- even at 3.99 they cant move them out.
And that was the case for all the big retailors- I doubt their buyers will bite that hook again.

Hasbro has the license now. They should be better than the previous ones.
I doubt we'll hear anything before NY toy fair since the movie release is in May.
The toys could show up around the same time. They will try to keep them secret until then if they are planning on releasing any.

ChuckSass 02-12-2013 08:12 PM

I just want a Chris Pine action figure…

Actually I've seen Star Gate sets by a different company popping up at the Family Dollar stores since just before xmas, so they're out there if you're not fixated on a particular brand.
