New WB animated Show rumors.

Besides Young Justice, I've run across two other interesting rumors.

I'm calling them rumors for now, as I've got no information to confirm or deny them as yet.

First up, a new CG Green Lantern cartoon is in the works. Which will mean a whole new line from Mattel for them. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini allegedly associated. Wish I could find proof as this sounds intriguing, but for now I'll have to leave it as rumor. We'll probably hear more towards comic-con. Makes sense with the hype they are building for the movie though.

The second bit of rumor mill gossip I've stumbled upon today, and this one's pretty likely. The WB has moved forward with Thundercats, and will be showcasing it later this year. I'm afraid it's not the classic one we all wanted, it's the Josie and the Thundercats like spin. This drasticly altered spin though, includes a new rights license for the characters, that Bandai is aiming to pick up after both Mattel and Hasbro passed because of the drastic changes. Again nothing concrete to prove this, but we should know for certain soon enough.

Both of which we should be getting confirmation on legitimacy at Comic-con coming up.

If true, this means Bandai will be making Thundercats figures for the new toon, but not any classic ones. And Mattel will be making a Green Lantern and Young Justice toyline for wide release.

Thoughts?

If anyone can find real confirmation short of tentative rumors like I found, the thundercats bandai scoop could be a noteworthy newsbreak for Toyark.

Young Justice has enough info and slipped up proof that I'm willing to believe it's legit, but these two are questionable without proof. So take it with a grain of salt.

Ehhhhh that Thundercats sounds meh. We'll see I guess. GL sounds good though.

There has been Thundercats rumors floating around for so long now. From the movie, to the CGI movie, to the cartoon. Nothing has ever come out of any of it.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think you're referring to the Thundercats cartoon where they are all teenagers in a rock band. Supposedly they can all transform. I remember hearing about this a while ago, maybe 8 months to a year ago. Sounds awful. But we'll see. When I first heard about it, they were just plans so if it does turn out to be true then the time you say it will premiere sounds about right.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. Although, I would love a kick-ass Thundercats movie. Has anyone seen the fake trailer for the movie? Somebody edited scenes from a bunch of different movies, like Troy, Stargate and a bunch of others, and digitally altered elements to make the actors look like characters from the cartoon. Brad Pitt is Lion-O, Vin Diesel is Panthro. It's pretty cool.

Thundercats Fan-made trailer

I loved that fanmade trailer from awhile back.
But yeah I've heard all those rumors too, but the rock band toon is the only one that actually had production art attached to it. I just really hope that's since changed. With the info that's been floating around though, doesn't seem like it, but one can still hope, since the CG movie has two minute test footage, and kidswb has an updated retro style Thundercats game. The movie concept art previously was real, but the movie's been on hold for awhile. Considering the modern revival going on though, who knows what's changed since.

Mattel has also said previously they wanted the rights, so it seems weird that bandai snapped them up away from them.
Guess we'll get our answers at comic-con this year. Wouldn't be the first time that Bandai has gotten toon rights, while mattel got the full original license rights.

Teen Titans figures for example. Mattel had the DC rights, but Bandai had the Teen Titans animated rights.
