Question about ML Havok style pectoral joint?

Hi Arkers,
Need some tips on dealing with the Legends Havok body style pectoral and shoulder joints. First off, how do you all deal with paint rub around the shoulders? The cavity that the shoulder ball rests in inside the pectoral hinge joint is so tight that I can't figure out how to avoid paint rub without shaving the hell out of the shoulder joint itself... I was thinking about just carving out the pec joint cavity as much as possible too with an x-acto.
Secondly... is it possible to pull the pec joint assembly out without cracking the torso somehow? Along those lines, how about removing the shoulder joint from the pec cavity entirely?

Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks folks...
