Tom Servo | The Birthday Project
 

So my brother's birthday is this weekend. I have been collecting parts to build him a custom Tom Servo on the cheap. The hardest thing to find (until i just looked on ebay) was the Gumball machine. These can be found on occasion very cheaply. The occasion that I decided i needed one I ended up paying $12 for this one online.

Collecting the rest of the parts was a little trickier. I ended up pulling together the following:

• 2 salad bowls from Wal-Mart (base)
• 6 door stops from walmart (details on base)
• 2 compression springs from Lowes (Arms)
• 2 baby doll hands from dismembered doll from a thrift store (hands)
• 2 Sets of measuring cups form wal-mart (shoulder mounts)
• 1 Barrel form a game called "Crush" from Tuesday Morning clearance sale (Main Body)

I'm hoping to have everything pulled together by Saturday with functioning puppetry for the mouth.

I took my crunch customizing skills to thier limits. Painting metal plastic, rubber & wood throughout several processes was definitely a challenge. Especially with the metallic red being a translucent paint. I'll go a head and admit I'm posting this after the party so in self - Mercy ill be brief.
