First Official Look at Hasbro’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Action Figures

4 Attachment(s)
Marvel fans are already jonesing to see "Guardians of the Galaxy" later this year, and today we're making the wait even harder as we present our exclusive first look at Hasbro's accompanying action figure line via their special edition 2014 Toy Fair poster.

As you can see below, Hasbro's 8" x 10" poster was inspired by Marvel's first official GotG image. The big difference being the Toy Fair poster uses Hasbro's 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Infinite Series six-inch action figures instead of actors. (Oh, to be immortalized in plastic.)

The poster will be handed out to invited guests during the company's presentation at the American International Toy Fair this weekend in New York City.

So who's your favorite? Which figure most resembles its big screen counterpart? We're slightly partial to Rocket and the build-a-Groot, but that could change when we get our hands on the individual figures, which will hit shelves in July and retail for $19.99 each. "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in theaters August 1

Primacron 02-13-2014 11:10 AM

Clever move by Hasbro - make the figure that works for 3.75" and 6" scales the BAF!!!

I'm happy to be replacing plant pot Groot though.

Exodus 02-13-2014 11:15 AM

Wow these look really nice, may get the entire set...

Nexodusrex 02-13-2014 11:28 AM

as a MU style collector, Groot is a must buy, just like AI Wasp is a Must Buy for ML

Serious Lee 02-13-2014 11:35 AM

I'll definitely be getting the set, but I was hoping Groot to be a little bit BIGGER than this, oh well...

Ravenxl7 02-13-2014 11:42 AM

I'm not hopefull, but if I ever see these at-retail, I might get Gamora. Though I might also just get her 3-3/4" figure and call it a day. Really depends on what I'm able to find. Distribution of anything Marvel related post Iron Man 3 has been absolutely shit. Only Thor TDW toys I've ever seen were at a book store.

dragon 02-13-2014 12:29 PM

Like how they how extraduated look with this set not fan of sereis so dont mind my du monde bness of characters only human man has trenach coat with more detail on toy movie version looks basic and lookijg , alien with tatoo dave batista character which toy looks nothing like him in face toy has more detail of tatoo than original makeup work done on him in movie it self, tree guy looks light on color, racoon more detail than movie version what I could make out, and female toy looks little skinny around waist section on her,.

If I like series I buy thme not fan of them or characters to now anything about thwm toys look better almost as good as movie version

decepticon_mark 02-13-2014 12:34 PM

man Im looking forward to these. unfortunately looks like Rocket is still lacking in articulation.

Ooh forgot about the smaller ones too which I mainly collect, yeah I would probably opt for her instead depending on how she looks though. I'm more on the Comic side of these figures usually when they're made. Agreed IM3 figures peg warm like crazy while the Thor ones actually came and gone.

ChuckSass 02-13-2014 01:35 PM

Gamora!!!!!

Maverick 02-13-2014 01:55 PM

Are we sure groot is the baf and not rocket. 20 bucks for that rocket would be nuts.

trebleshot 02-13-2014 02:57 PM

^ That's certainly possible. It could be a Monkeyman/Puck kind of BAF to offset Groot's size, which would really make sense if there's only going to be 5 characters in the entire GOTG ML series.

Or maybe RR would just come with the largest section of Groot - like the torso and head or something.

TheUncannyMike 02-13-2014 04:16 PM

An article on Yahoo says Groot is the BAF and there will be 6 figures total. The 2 other figures will be shown at the fair. I do not know much about the Guardians. Any guesses on who they will be?

Phantomcrow 02-13-2014 05:03 PM

Well I am guessing the the Groot head/Torso will come with RR. As for the other 2 figures in the line I would guess Nebula and Ronan. I would prefer to have a figure of The Collector but it could also be Yondu or Korath.

Maverick 02-13-2014 05:36 PM

I wish draxs pants were blue instead of red. Looks a bit off to me.

Frank Richards 02-13-2014 05:38 PM

These look cool, but I think I'm going to have to wait and see if I enjoy the movie enough to pick these up. I'm only a casual fan of the GotG comics, and right now, Drax and (a not yet completed, lol) Rocket Raccoon are the only Guardians I think I really need in my collection. I can't wait to see more pics of these during Toy Fair though.

ChuckSass 02-13-2014 05:40 PM

I'm praying that gamora and starlord have comic versions as the other two.

That said I'm sure Ronan and nova were listed

Serious Lee 02-13-2014 05:43 PM

I think the last two are IronMan and Nova

Frank Richards 02-13-2014 05:48 PM

That's awesome news, because I really really want a GOOD Legends figure of Nova. That last one... well, I won't even mention that disaster, lol !

Spyne98 02-13-2014 07:00 PM

Everything seems to say that Groot is the BAF. That kind of bugs me because I don't want to pay $20 for Rocket, the BAF Rocket was fine. Personally, I don't like that Drax, the other legends one we got is fine by me. I will buy that Gamora and I can use that Star Lord since we don't have a comic one. I'm betting the other 2 are Nebula, since she's in the movie, and maybe Nova. I'd be cool with that.

Starscream99 02-13-2014 07:08 PM

I guess one of the other 2 figures will be comic Star Lord. These look good though. Definitely picking them up.

mrdolo187 02-13-2014 07:17 PM

I'm hoping the other two are nova and starlord, whom might I add was shown at sdcc and or nycc!

Serious Lee 02-13-2014 07:34 PM

I think the dude in the middle IS Starlord

And hopefully he comes with an alternate head with helmet and mask, even the the sculpt shown looks good, I'd rather see him a little more um, comic

It is, but they showed the CAD model for a Comic version at SDCC last year. They said it'd be part of the movie line. It was using the AIM soldier body.

Serious Lee 02-13-2014 08:15 PM

Ugggghhhhhh!!!

Does this mean GotG will be split into 2 waves as well??

For the love of PETE!!!
