Marvel Select X-Men Days of Future Past Mystique

Ravenxl7 04-25-2014 02:19 PM

Just when I thought there was no hope of there ever being a JL Mystique figure (Minimates doesn't count), Diamond Select goes and proves me wrong. I'll definitely be getting this. Might even keep it in-package so I can hang it next to the Katniss figure I have.

Sorrow Bringer 04-25-2014 02:31 PM

Wtf Is wrong with MS? First they wont do winter soldier from cap2, now this is what u give us? Why dont you just do Dr. Bong, till then Ill save my dough.

snake5289 04-25-2014 04:49 PM

Sorry but I can't say I really care. Not when they could have gone with Magneto or a Sentinel or something.

cidman911 04-25-2014 07:55 PM

It's a great looking figure...I love it... but a lot of fans were expecting a movie Sentinel Marvel Select figure.

Diamond Select is losing out on a whole bunch of army builder sales by not releasing one.

Poison Shadow 04-25-2014 08:07 PM

Mystique was no better of a choice than anyone else in the movie. Have we had a Macavoy Xavier yet? No. Fassbender Magneto? No. Hoult Beast? No. The list goes on and on. Hell, they finally did a halfway decent costume for Wolverine, and he's a guaranteed product mover, so a new version of him would be the best choice from a business standpoint.

These specific versions have not yet been done.

Actually, Mystique makes a lot of sense. She's one of the few movie X-men characters that has a consistent look that doesn't change from movie to movie. Just look at the changes on Fassbender and McAvoy from First Class to Days of Future Past. That's the problem with making toys from movies. When the new movie comes out, the old costumes and figures are obsolete. Mystique, on the other hand, will fit right in.

Ssshhh! They might be listening! :p While Wolvie's great and all, he's the only movie X-men character Marvel Select has made. And they've made him twice! (X-men: Origins and The Wolverine) I'm just glad somebody else is getting a turn.

ITS A FACT mystique was the best choice, if u want magneto go get the x-men united marvel legends, it looks the same than fassbender, if u want mccavoy go get the hot toys version, if u want AN ACTION FIGURE dont get either magneto or mccavoy cuz they will be just standing in the air (magneto) or just sitting (xavier) the whole movie, its mystique the one that gets most of the action scenes from the movie, if u want beast just get the X3 marvel legends, why another version of beast before a proper version of mystique? whos more important mystique OR A 2ND VERSION OF ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS? im not giving my personal opinion here im stating facts, my personal opinion is that they should make movie sentinels but they cant cuz they would be 3 times taller and they can only make them 7 inch, a 7 inch sentinel wouldnt be in scale and they only make figures 1/10, u guys should grow up so u can stop wanting male figures to play with them and rejecting female figures that will make u feel awkward touching them in front others, MYSTIQUE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN VARIANT VERSIONS OF REPEATED CHARACTERS, PERIOD!!!

I am too (especially because of who it is), but I have to admit, I would actually like to see Wolvy's new blue and yellow costume made into non-Minimates figure form at some point. Not to say he's more deserving than other characters, just that it's something I would like to see. Honestly it would probably be the only other figure they could do for this movie that I would have any interest in.

I know it's the signiture look for movie Mystique, but I kinda wish they had given JL's part as the character a version of that white outfit from the comics. It would at least make owning a figure of her a tad less... awkward... lol

I agree on both points.

It's nice that there's finally some of that signature yellow and blue in a movie Wolverine suit. I'd definitely like to see other characters get made before Logan again, mostly Kitty Pryde or Fassbender Magneto in the full red costume.

You'd think by now there would have been a nod to Mystique's white dress from the comics. It'd be great to see her with the long hair and the white dress in at least one scene. You won't catch me complaining about the look they've been going with, though.

AndreWebs 04-26-2014 02:29 PM

Mmmmmmm, Im not in Marvel Select anymore only if the figures are Spider-Man related, but I would have love a Sentinel figure for my figures, hope some people enjoy this Mystique figure

That would be nice. Don't know if I'd prefer the 70's Sentinels or the future Sentinels, though.

Serious Lee 04-26-2014 03:56 PM

I think she looks great, I sort of wish that I came into collecting when MS started up. But I'm here for Apocolyplse! And BTW, if you at DST decide to do a sentinel, I'll be in for 4 or 5 of them! Just saying....

kylactus 04-26-2014 04:15 PM

remember when the first X-movie came out and we got the comic/movie version two packs? that was cool. I just seems like
Hasbro is phoning it in with the X-men, the last movie didn't get a damn thing! I'd like tem to treat the X-franchise more like the Avengers, full offerings in all lines! hell we got a Nattily Portman from Thor 2! I don't think it sucks that there making Mystique, but I do think it will suck if they only make Mystique. and if anyone is going to shove any figures up anyone's ass heres my suggestion...

ChuckSass 04-26-2014 08:24 PM

She looks awesome! this is also way better than the one that come out from the first movie that busted a million times

TimothyR 04-26-2014 11:25 PM

anyways.. going along with the winter soldier argument.. them not making a captain america movie version of the winter soldier is the same as if there was an optimus figure made without a megatron, luke without vader, etc.. toy lines need to have good guys and bad guys.

Panthro1978 04-27-2014 01:14 AM

They owe us a movie Black Widow too.

Yeah, I hate the whole 1-3 figures per film. Especially when there are so many Marvel films coming out in the same year. Amazing Spider-man 2 got one figure, Captain America 2 got two, and Days of Future Past has got Mystique.

I wonder how they will handle this. With Avengers 2 there will be even more characters added to the roster. I personally think she should have been released with Cap 2. IMHO, her 3 movie appearances trump Falcon's one.

I'm quite happy with my Hot Toys BW, but I'd love her in scale with the other MS Avengers figures I have.

She probably realized someone could sand the scaly bits off, use a little putty, and repaint it. :/

Ravenxl7 08-11-2014 11:19 AM

That sucks, but honestly... I can't really blame her. I wonder if they got her permision to begin with, or came up with the sculpt and then went to her about it.

It depends on how they had to negotiate the rights for it. They may have first had to go through Fox and Marvel for character likeness, and then possibly presented to Lawrence for approval once approved by Fox and Marvel. Lots of hoops to jump through when dealing with multiple rights holders.

I am go with her "people" who were handling this decided their cut wasn't enuff so they scrapped the whole thing. Remember before it gets to the actors all the lawyers and agents handle the workings...if you cant get past them its not gonna happen. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she didn't know anything about it...

BBManik 08-11-2014 01:47 PM

Nooo!!!!

Was really looking forward to this
