Very happy to let you guys know that the Movie Realization line is basically the S.I.C. line, just for film. That Samurai Darth Vader will be fully poseable! You can even see the joints in his elbows! Whoo-hoo!

Starscream99 06-12-2014 09:16 AM

I was hoping for Takara SW Black Series figures.

Hasbro Star Wars products are simply just redistributed in Japan as is. Takara and Hasbro don't have the same ownership of Star Wars as they do with Transformers, as the latter was developed as a joint venture.

Tony_Bacala 06-12-2014 09:22 AM

I completely forgot about the Figuarts Turtles. I need those now.

And figuarts Star Wars? Crazy. Black Series has some competition.

I think he meant the Revoltech Turtles. Hehe.

Nrin Vakil 06-12-2014 01:12 PM

Any idea how tall the revoltech turtles are?

Optimus Neeson 06-12-2014 01:21 PM

Revoltech figures have doubled in price over the last 10 years. Wtf is going on? I've never seen such horrible price inflation from any brand.

YES YOU HAVE! Marvel Legends! $20 for a Marvel Legend figure is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately idiots are paying it. Just gotta have that new Spider-Man or Captain America figure that looks identical to the 30 you already have on your shelf collecting dust.

Inflation or gouging? I don't really see anything but toys going up in price. Gas, groceries, cat food, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, you name it & it hasn't gone up in years. I've seen a lot of stuff go down in price. But not toys.

Look at the new deluxe Transformers at Walmart. They started at $14.99 & a lot of suckers were stupid enough to pay that price. Now they've rolled back the price & I got all my Dinobots for $9.98 each. They never needed to be $14.99 in the first place. It's called gouging, not inflation.

Yes, meant Revoltech. I mis-typed, brain freeze :)

Marvel Legends figures have cost $20 in my area since the early 2000s, and have remained pretty consistent. So no, I haven't seen such ridiculous inflation in action figures before.

Deluxe Transformers toys have remained between $12 and $15 in my area for about 10 years. So yeah, the stuff you're seeing is not at all consistent with what's been happening in my corner of Texas.

I remember around 2005 when Revoltechs were $20 each before shipping. Now they're almost $50. That is fucking ridiculous.

No, they were $6.99 or $7.99 through the entire ToyBiz run that went to almost the end of 2006. Hasbro picked up the license and suddenly the comics were gone and prices doubled. It's no surprise that the line tanked shortly thereafter.

I agree, Revoltech prices are getting stupid. What made them great was that they were cheap and looked decent. They should leave expensive stuff to Figuarts and other companies b/c Revoltech QC was NEVER up to par. I LOVE these guys, but they will be clearanced on HLJ and other etailers in a month after release.

What do you mean no? I'm telling you they were always $20 in my area. I remember it very specifically even during the ToyBiz era.

Dr Kain 06-12-2014 09:57 PM

I hate Revoltech, but what turtles are they doing? Are they doing the original comic ones? And if so, are they actually going to do the other characters like Shredder?

FadeToBlackBolt 06-12-2014 10:09 PM

Try living in Australia where the price of any Hasbro figure is at least 150% on the US RRP. $25 for a Marvel UNIVERSE figure. Wonderful.
Anyway, off topic.

The SH Figuarts Star Wars line could be pretty amazing, the problem is the scale. They don't fit in with any other Star Wars line, so it's either get more and more of the same few characters in a different scale, or commit to only SH Figuarts and HOPE they release more over time.

look at the play arts kai line they quadruple the price
of their figures and its still increasing today "EVERY NEW RELEASE"
adds a 500 yen to the figures
i wished they would just stop at $50-60. now they're over $100

malcontentman 06-14-2014 10:29 AM

I want a S.H. Figuarts General Griveous. If they keep the S.H. Figuarts Star Wars line going for a while and the figures are good, I might get into them, but they are usually so expensive.
