Custom Extremis Armor Iron Man 2.0 (4 inch)

Extremis is my favorite armor because this is the first armor when Tony Stark injects himself with a mix of Extremis virus & nanobots, transcending himself in becoming more than a normal human.

In fact, at end of movie Iron Man 3 Stark throws away the mini-ture arc reactor, this Extremis version of Iron Man armor shall be his next, namely what he has become and shall appear as in "Avengers 2 Age of Ultron".

Anyways, too bad that the Hasbro 3.75 inch version of Extremis Iron Man has very limited articulation, So I decided to make a version 2.0 custom.

Broke down base figures into pieces using hot water. Base treated with Surface Primer (Twin Star) to ensure consistent Paint adhesion to figure. Spent a lot of hours on layers and layers of paint job, and illustrating all details lines. Then post-finishing spray to ensure "play-ability" without paint chipping off. Lastly, I sprayed a layer of matt finishing because Extremis armor is not made of regular shiny surface metal (as per comic).

Head from MU Reed Richard with paint job, & MU Extremis Iron man head with minor sculpting and fitting. Body is mainly a mixture of different mini-Revo figures.

little background from Extremis comic:

Since Tony Stark has injected himself with nanobots along with the Extremis shot, not only can he have super human strength, speed and healing abilities; he can also connect anytime to data network and access global computer network system. As well, he can command and summon remotely his armor to him and armor up anywhere. Most crucially, he no longer needs to control his armor through verbal command to Jarvis, he basically controls the armor with his thoughts directly. So him and armor is truly one by this stage of evolution.

This armor is made of special metal where it is soft, light & flexible in nature, but with electrical current throughput it hardens. This also explains the "slimmer" slick look of the armor comparing to his previous thick metal versions.

Sizing up with Acid Rain Bucks Team Bob figure, Mini-Revoltech War Machine, MU drone from Movie Iron Man 2, 3.75 inch Avenger Movie Iron Man figure, and Mini-Revoltech Iron Man Mark VI from Movie Iron Man 2. (Comparing scale)
