NECA Teases Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Retro Figures

dude, if this is anything like most of the other retro figures we'll get plastic counter parts eventually, and man does that make me happy.

I dunno, if they make it as a mego first then it doesn't seem to reach normal action figure status unless it's a part of a franchise that they're already doing. We aren't getting a regular Snake Plissken because the mego one didn't sell well enough apparently (from what I remember hearing, don't quote me on that), so one does not necessarily lead to the other. Unless they're about to announce a regular Snake, who knows, they've been on a roll with great reveals recently.

Yeah, Randy's had said on Twitter that the Mego Snake Plissken underperformed compared to other Mego's. I still see Snake in stores at times (along with Taylor and the Mego Apes).

Joe Moore 10-30-2015 05:54 AM

Just as we're talking about Snake, Randy posted this.

No regular Snake.

En Sabah Nerd 10-30-2015 08:39 AM

It still stings. I get that doing them as a mego first to test the waters is less costly since there isn't as much new tooling/sculpting but I still feel like maybe it would have sold better if it was a regular figure since that's what most people initially wanted, but then again that might not have sold that well since it isn't exactly a high profile license.

Some licenses, like Escape From NY, may have worked better if timed with a special edition blu-ray release or something of the sorts. Lining it up with an anniversary or a bit of fan fare from the cult film community may have also helped.

BBManik 10-30-2015 10:01 AM

Just like Home Alone, I bet the sculpts on these will be fantastic. I just have no interest in Mego style figures.

Phantomcrow 10-30-2015 10:17 AM

Same here , No care for the Mego style stuff. If NECA would make a standard figure of Bill and Ted and the Booth I would jump on that in a heartbeat.

Dragasses 10-30-2015 05:38 PM

you all have made me sad with all your "logic."

I was wandering what happened to snake…sad emoticon.

Yeah, they're horrible. NECA done fucked up.

Kamatayan 09-01-2016 11:22 AM

The face sculpt screw up is genuinely hilarious. They looked more stoned than usual. Makes you wonder if the movies were just one huge acid trip.

Dolemite 09-01-2016 11:51 AM

I'm honestly not sure which one is worse. Bill looks like a sleepy 90 year-old man and Ted looks like the bastard lovechild of John Leguizamo and the dude who played Kylo Ren.

which is odd, because alex winter always looks a tiny bit bug-eyed.

he looks like he's on his way to pleasure island.

I guess there goes my chance to see these outside of the mego style.
