Atari Leatherface wasn't green. What sorcery is this?

There were parts of the game where he was indeed green.

I knew this would come up. He actually was green sometimes. I think they went with green over blue because most of the CVG figures are already blue (Jason, Predator, Robocop, half of Dog Alien). Google image "Atari leatherface" and you can easily find images of the sprite being green.

That's clearly not green. Still cyan. The figure matches the grass.

Not even approaching the Cyan/Blue spectrum. Nothing but green.

Okay, here, I will concede that he is green. I was looking at this on my phone earlier and it looked cyan/much lighter blue than I remember, but still bluish nonetheless.

BUT!

Looking at both the cartridge-run version and my ROM I'm not seeing any point in which he's green on either part, and I never remember it happening from way back when, either. About 25% of the Google image searches show him green... I'm wondering what the heck this all came from.

That image with Freddy, Leatherface and Jason looks too much like Pokemon.

He certainly was more often blue but I think I may be right that NECA felt we already had enough blue figures in the CVG line.

Never grew up with this game but this color scheme has an unusual appeal to me.
