Joten 05-17-2016 04:41 AM

Cool! For $78 I hope it comes with some non-SS heads and a new effect

CasualCollector 05-17-2016 04:57 AM

SUPER VEGETA! This looks beautiful, but for almost double the price of the average Figuarts figure, this thing better come accessorized to the teeth. If not, then this will be extremely disappointing and a huge pass.

StaticShin27 05-17-2016 05:03 AM

Nice to see the other lines catch up with modern SHF engineering lol

1987olds442 05-17-2016 06:09 AM

So this is basically Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta... Nice :)

says who ? SSJ2 Vegeta never appeared with that costume in the anime/manga; he was wearing the dark blue onesie uniform and was primarily in his Majin form.

I don't know if I am excited or pissed off. They re-released Vegeta with the premium colors, now they are releasing him with the new body. If he comes with non-SSJ heads then great ! Otherwise, they sure as hell know how to milk the cow !

Zorn88 05-17-2016 07:23 AM

^ Yeah, I am a little annoyed that they are doing the same uniform. There are enough of those, and we need the uniform he wore in the Majin series. And it would be easy to include a Majin Vegeta head

Dr Kain 05-17-2016 07:41 AM

Wait, then why do I have the recolor version in my BBTS Pile of Loot? How do I cancel that order?

This pricing becomes the standard with Tamashii nowadays, nothing new and especially no indicator for accessories sadly.

And no, this figure has no accessories besides extra hands and faces.

Because Tamashii was smart and you were impatient.

I'm just curious where you got all this information? I suppose since it's an official teaser image it's more or less official, but some of us can still hope, right? Also, if this is the standard for Tamashii Nations, then it looks like I'll never buy their products again since they need to be reminded their premium action figures are still colorful aesthetically pleasing plastic.

Experience. Sure we only know it with 100% certainty once the figure gets listed with the accessories, but usually you want to show the cool things you include with your figure on the official pictures and there's nothing to see here besides extra hands and faces.

Of course, but as I said: If a regular head or a beam effect would be included we would’ve had seen it by now.

I checked the news post and the stated price is wrong. For starters the price is not 8,616 Yen as stated in the post, it's 5,616 Yen (about 50$), same as their recent Trunks figure which comes out soon.

And that's just the base price; Japanese retailers will give you discounts as usual.

I thought you guys meant that that was expensive, I didn’t even check the news post.

Well that makes so much more sense and thus immediately retract my statement lol. I mean it'll still be a pass if he doesn't at least have an extra head or accessory, but I'll still consider.

But you have to admit that given that Trunks will indeed come with a powered-down head, it is very probable Vegeta will too (especially since they will be at the same price point).
Everything we say is still speculation of course, but lets be optimistic shall we ?

Eh... I'm too grumpy to be optimistic :DBZ2

And that Trunks comes with a regular head is exactly what makes me even more mad about this, Vegeta should have one too. And the initial pictures for Trunks clearly showcased the regular head, so... eh.

If he does come with a regular head I'll be really happy, if not... well in that case I was right.

graphyt 05-17-2016 11:22 AM

I'm really looking forward to the SS2 Trunks. At $50 it's tempting, but I think I'm going to be more picky with the line. Still so happy over the shoulder redesign. Awakening Goku is such a phenomenal figure.

Augustus_Cole 05-17-2016 11:30 AM

sooo wait..this is different HOW from the one that was just released???? is that just the trunks body?? I dont understand how this is a thing...i love me some DBZ figuarts but i see NOOOO reason to purchase this...

Better sculpt, better proportions, more articulation.

The old Super Vegeta is nice and all, but the mold is terribly outdated. This new one looks much better and features more articulation.

Using the Trunks body is a good thing, even though it's technically not a reuse since Vegeta is smaller and his body proportions are different. It just looks similar because well they're wearing the same armor and they probably used the same armor for Vegeta. The rest of the body is just blue paint anyways. So more of a retool than a reuse.

And why is it a thing? Easily retooled figure people will buy because it’s much better than the old Super Vegeta, that’s why.

How much more articulation is there, and I'm guessing they will release a regular Vegeta which will be awesome, because that figure is mad expensive on E-Bay

Anyone photoshopped some comparison shots of the different bodies yet?

There isn't a SSJ2 trunks figure...

Hard to say exactly how much better it is based on pictures (but Trunks is out soon, he'll be a good example) but from the pictures you'll notice that the whole hip area is much better, a pose like the one featured in the picture posted by Joe above is much harder to pull off with the old figure, if it even works.

http://i.imgur.com/IXxy2bd.jpg
(Left is the new figure, old one on the right)

Second the shoulders are probably a huge deal, the old ones are good but the new ones are even better. The Awakening Goku had shoulders like these and they are great. You can't really tell in the pictures though, that's more a thing you'll realize once you have him in hand.

Third, the torso. The old Super Vegeta had no articulation in the abdomen, only at the cut between the armor and the lower body. This new one has a balljoint (or maybe even two) inside the armor which means you can articulate the torso much better.

(Same deal as above)

still waiting on an accurate perfect cell. dude was not that fucking skinny

didnt vegeta go into SSJ2 in battle of the gods? and look like this?
