McFarlane Titanfall 2 Blisk and Jester
|
More statues. Mcfarlane should just pack it in.
|
Man they went right back to their old ways.
|
I think we will be seeing this more often as economies tighten and businesses are trying to cut costs (articulation) while drawing in funds...
|
It's the same formula that McFarlane has been doing for 15 years now. They have never been known for their articulation, but more for their detail, which , in my honest opinion, is better than NECA. They are geared toward a certain niche market - those of us who just want a cool looking shelf piece of some of our favorite characters. As long as they give us cool poses, I'm ok with it.
Think of it this way, statues have been all the rage lately and they are getting ridiculously expensive. Everyone is making them. This is a 7" "statue" for $20!!! Think about that for a second. |

I was really hopeful for some nice, affordable Titanfall robot figures. Instead, it's mini statues under the guise of "action figures". I pass.

Such crap, can't believe anyone actually purchases these. I mean even if you don't care about articulation and want to keep them MOC, the packages don't even look good so not even THOSE people can enjoy these.

I personally can't believe, after all these years, people are still bitching about McF's figures. You don't like them, OK, leave them to those who do & move on!! |
I personally would prefer their figures fully articulated, I don't buy statues. I though that in time, they would noticed that articulation was a critical factor to sell more figures, but apparently I was wrong. If they are still making them with such limited articulation and notting has change, it means that they are selling them well and that collectors of statues are growing and supporting their product, which is fine. McFarlane himself had said that he prefer those statue-like figures and it is what it is. Good for the happy ones. They are in some way giving more articulation, though, look at the drawing of the character standing up and all the separate pieces.

They should really just say "F it with 'action figures'" we're making statues now.
Those unsightly "articulation" cuts will annoy any self-respecting statue collectors, and since we've already established that nobody cares about those "articulations" they offer, they should just stop doing them altogether. Unless of course, McFarlane really just doesn't want to bother hiding hideous seamlines. So instead of trying to cleverly hide them, like most statue-makers attempt to do, they just add a swivel to each one and say "hey it's an action figure!" Hue. |
They Are Not More detailed than NECA. Shame too, they used to be pretty big at Target and Toy's R US.
|
This'll peg warm just like every other McFarlane Color Tops figure at TRU. I honestly don't know how they stay in business at this point.

Is it an action figure or posed plastic statue? Figures interest me, the latter does not.

Picked Jester up today... Actually pretty cool. Antenna on the helmet is bent, but nothing that can't be fixed.
