Anyone still following this line? :) BB8 & R2 was the last set I got, haha. (The magnets worked; woohoo!)

Anyway, Bandai just announced the line's first 1/6 scale figure, a Stormtrooper. So we might be able to get Hot Toys-sized figures, with probably almost as much detail, for less than a third of the price. Crazy!

Not really I don't think. These are model kits. It's not something you can display right out of the box.
I have to say I think the price is surprisingly reasonable for that size. I used to seriously build gunpla about 10 years ago and the prices for non-perfect grade 1/60 kits (which would be the same height as this stormtrooper) would tend to about $45-$70.

is this official bandai japan? like is this 1/6 shfiguarts?

You might not be able to display it right out of the box but with Stormtroopers there's minimal work that needs to be done if you like the clean look, like Hot Toys STs are.
