I haven't watched this since I was a child and I am not really into it now but I must admit that that looks pretty cool.
Does it light up or are those added picture effects?

watch Dragon Ball Abridged. It cuts out the crap, and makes it a million times more entertaining while staying true to the story. first few episodes are a little rough but its VERY Worth it. they are just starting the Cell Games

Those are real lights. You can press the button on side of chair arm to turn on/off, and switch the colors. The last mode of the button cycle turns it into rotation mode, so it will slowly change between colors too.

Now I need to go catch up. Another 2 hours gone...

I looked at this online and some of them come with the fixed character. Is this one a new release with a poseable figure? I also don't think the ones I saw when I looked online lit up

The one with the fixed character is different than this one. The fixed ones are a bandai release, this is pod only by a different company. That's here:
