I'm usually not into any Aliens that aren't from the first two films, but I do make the occasional exception...the albino dog-penis tongue concept alien, the Kenner homage Gorilla Alien, and now this one, as the Defiance Alien looks just awesomely creepy.

Hard to tell in the package but is the shape of the head the only major difference?

Well it's a matter of what you're comparing it to as to what's different. The head is the only major new sculpted piece and the rest of the figure is a re-use of the Isolation Alien. So it's mostly the Big Chap body and limbs except the legs are digitigrade in structure. Funny enough for a figure from an Aliens comic it uses pretty much nothing from the Aliens warrior figures but then that's how it looked in the comic I guess.

I never picked up an Isolation Alien so this purchase is a must-have to me.
