...I LOVED DC Collectibles for a LONG time. I have nearly the entire Arkham and Icons lines, with a good deal from the Designer Series too. I even collected their DCEU Superman before that line got cancelled after the first damn wave. Their customer service has been great to me and because of that, I invested HUNDREDS of dollars into their products.

Then they cancel the Arkham line. Then they cancel the Movie line. Then they cancel the Designer line. Then they cancel the Icons line. Now, the only figures they plan to release are these DC Essentials figures.
These figures have no accessories. These figures have questionable proportions. These figures ALL HAVE THE SAME SCULPT.

The Icons line was small and had its kinks, sure, but EVERY new figure was a new sculpt with brand new accessories - it was making a WONDERFUL lineup of figures. Before they began to include articulation in their figures, DC (Direct) prided itself on the sculpts instead - not very poseable, but wonderful to look at.

These Essentials figures have neither sculpt nor accessories. They are all repaints of pretty much the same base figure, which they push on us after cancelling a line that had committed buyers before it was finally able to come into its own.

And then they give us the same figure in Shazam and Black Adam and tell us to "create the showdown you’ve always imagined". After cancelling the Shazam Icons figure.

Yo, I've been surveying this site for a long time and I have to say that I completely agree with you about the Icons/Essentials line. Created this account to support your statement.

I'm really skeptical about which figures I buy, but the Icons line had me from the jump. The dedicated sculpts, variety of characters and and costume selection were I feel just great. I was heavily invested in the line and nearly own every release. I cherry pick Marvel Legends and everything else. The Icons just hit home for me. Sorry for the rambling.

I'm disappointed that DC Collectibles didn't at the least go and release the figures they revealed for the last wave. Where else am I gonna get an Etrigan figure like the one they showed? The Essentials figures seem to lack any inspiration and are trying to replicate the MLs aesthetic to their figures. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter.

im buying that black adam for sure but ill skip that shazam to get the sdcc version

Where did you see an SDCC version?

the old sdcc version, he is like a burgundy color

I have at least three Black Adam figures that are identical to their same-time Shazam figures except the head. It's been a thing for a long time. It's really annoying.

Can they just loosen up the capes at bit. I love DC Collectibles, but these stiff capes ruin it for me and others.
