Not sure that the likeness is 100% dead on, but it's an incredible sculpt, insane amount of detail. I really like the deluxe accessories as well. I've already got New Hope Han Hot Toys, not sure I need this one. What I really want is Empire Han with the blue long sleeve jacket, how he looked for most of the film. I need that Han, but I may have to grab this and Lando from Solo story.

I had no desire to get one of these figures (maybe that'll change more after tonight) but I think this looks really, really good. The sculpt looks great.

Saw the movie last night. It's bantha tripe. Wish I could unwatch it. Ecccch.

I passed on all the classic StarWars Hottoys because that's just too big a hole to jump in- but I loved Solo, maybe getting into HotToys of pre-ANH would be fun...Could have a nice closed collection with Han, Lando and Chewie...

Yeah, Aleden Ehrenreich is pretty good as Han. He basically carries the movie. I guess that sorta undermines my previous criticism, because I kinda want this figure.

Interesting choice and didn't expect this at all. Probably the only way to get a bunch of mudtroopers if you care about that.

Death Trooper Armour
 

The Mimban scene and costume is one of the few things i really liked about the movie. Now that i get a better look, it looks like a mix of AT-AT Commander and Death Trooper Armour. The overall look still reminds me of the Imperial troops from Warhammer 40k though :)

With the movie tanking, maybe these guys will depreciate enough that I’ll actually be able to afford to pick up a few of them in a couple of years...

Yep. Putting the actual Imperial Army onscreen (as opposed to, say, turning Corellia into the bastard offspring of Kuat Drive Yards and Nar Shaddaa) was perhaps the only bit of fanservice in the film that didn’t fall flat on its face.

The spaulders might be from the Death Trooper Armour. The rerebraces and greaves look like they’ve been sourced from the Shoretroopers. The helmet and body armour are a pretty clear reference to General Veers and the Snowtroopers (minus the environmental control doodads), which is interesting, since it seems to muddy the idea that the ground combat personnel Veers commands are Stormtroopers (the “Mudtroopers” are explicitly identified as Imperial Army troops, whereas we keep being told over and over again that the Stormtrooper Corps is an independent service separate from it).

At one point Stormtroopers were a branch separate from army and navy, even appears on official merchandise, not just gaming manuals. Then later, stormtroopers were the army, them and whatever drivers and officers there were (how this works is still vague). Now we're are officially shown the regular army. BUT...wookiepedia claims they are mostly local defense forces and eventually phased out and stormtroopers become the sole army infantry...and this is based on??

I'd still like to have been shown who the "mudtroopers" were fighting. Were they alien? I guess. But better we see that stupid centipede thing, right?

If I get one trooper from the movie it'll probably be this one. Love all the OT influences in the design. Pretty barebones otherwise, hope he's like $205-210 at most.
