This figure is weirding me out....

Is anybody totally weirded out by this figure? XD
It's like the PTA lady with the loud horrible laugh and moldy bread in her car. Who would I be if I bought this? Because I'm very much considering it. I have weird figures. This is a level of weird I haven't explored. I'm like a baby bird and I don't want mommy to throw up in my mouth. But I think I need the sustenance.... S.H.Figuarts Yoko Fuchigami |
I never heard of this lady before they announced the figure but apparently she's a popular fashion designer in Japan?
It's kinda weird to find out who’s famous or popular in Japan via a Figuart figure :D Anyways, I think it's a well-designed figure for what it is, but I don’t think I need to own it. If you do get her, why not re-purpose the figure as a MCU / DCU Edna Mode? ;) |
replace the hair and you have kim jong un.

Aight' so after laughing my ass off and saying "WTF?!?!" I looked this up and basically this is Japanese Comedian Robert Akiyama, aka Japan's equivalent of Sasha Baron Cohen (now this all makes sense). Dude plays a ton of different characters he's invented. Here he is in drag playing “famed fashion designer”, Yoko Fuchigami.
Apparently this character is popular enough that it was worthy of getting a Figuarts, just like how the longtime Downtown comedians got their own Figuarts as well(these guys are hilarious and you've probably seen some of the crazy tv challenges they're famous for on YouTube videos). I personally wouldn't mind Figuarts of the Three Stooges because they could utilize endless amounts of accessories. They could be a goldmine for Figuarts accessories packs if Bandai really ran with that idea. Anyways, here's some website (I dunno Japanese. I just Google translate it) that shows many more personalities Robert Akiyama plays: https://creatorsfile.com/ |

It's weird that I couldn't find anything else related though, the Downtown guys I at least found videos and other stuff of. Anyways, thanks for clearing that up, much appreciated. |

I wonder if this comedian speaks English? I could totally see him getting his own American comedy tv show where he plays all these characters to mess with people. |
Fascinating. I never realized that Edna Mode was a caricature of a real celebrity.

It's some Japanese comedian. Apparently, dressing as a woman is part of his act.

A comedian playing an actual fashion designer, or Edna Mode XD...and there is a fully articulated figure about it now...because people can't wait to buy this??? It's so mind bending. That being said, I'm going to buy it guys! ........l should be saving for so many other figures right now... If figuarts made the three stooges I'd buy in a second. I never thought of that. The first time I saw the stooges, I was 8yrs old, in a waiting room for a piano lesson. Five mins into the show, I slapped my mom across the face, true story. |

If Bandai does make 3 Stooges Figuarts, I hope we get both color and black&white versions.
What other comedians or their personalities would make good Figuarts? Borat, Ali G, Mork, the cone-heads, the blues brothers, Bill Murray from Caddy Shack, Animal House Bluto, Belushi in 1941, Delirious & RAW standup Eddie Murphy, Rodney Dangerfield (the bug-eyed headsculpt would be dope!), Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Bob Hope standup, Richard Pryor standup, Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, the cast of Seinfeld, & the Ghostbusters(yeah, yeah, I know they've been done by so many different companies already). Neca has already made National Lampoons, Elf, A Christmas Story, and Home Alone figures. |

tke my money please!!!! plus B&W versions of the stooges would be my best b&w figures!! maybe in front of the B&W woody revoltech and indie spotlight b&w dick tracy . But seriously, don't get me started on indie spotlight/gbjr toys/geoff beckett jr... |
I know we shit on Geoff Beckett but I really liked his Shockinis. I got a bunch of them.
But yeah, as far as comedian Figuarts go, I'd be down for The Three Stooges, the blues brothers, Bill Murray from Caddy Shack, Rodney Dangerfield, Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, and Kramer from Seinfeld. My top 3 would be a tie between Dangerfield, Wonka, and Kramer. |

He kept my money. Years later did an interview telling people to contact him for their money. I did. Never heard from him. He's a white collar criminal. |
