Disney+ Value for the common geek...

Just spent some of my toy budget on Disney+. Glad I did. for those of you into all things Marvel, it has all the old 60's Spiderman cartoons as well as the 90's Xmen, Spiderman, Fantastic Four, and Ironman cartoons. Also many of the older movies are upscaled to 4K if you have compatible equipment.

This morning I was eating a bowl of cereal while watching X-Men cartoons. Haven't done that in 27 years!

A MUST for kids, especially those addicted to "YouTube celebrities"... show them what REAL entertainment looks like.

I know it's popular to hate on Disney, but I am honestly thrilled they took this step to make their catalog more accessible.

Id probably seriously consider subscribing if they ever get Nicholas Hammond Spiderman or the Toei version.

There are quite a bit of "holes" in the offerings, but since it's only been live for a few hours, I'm content. There are a few of the classic cartoon shorts that I loved as a kid that aren't on the site, yet, but I'm sure Disney will fill in all the holes.

They have several of the anime marvel series, so it's probably a matter of time/subtitling until they add the more obscure pieces.

Gotta say, I find it hilarious they are effectively using Disney+ to weed out the non MCU fanatics... "you need a Disney+ subscription to understand phase 4," Big Kev says.

It'll weed out very few. Disney+ is almost guaranteed to rival Netflix within a short time. It's "cheap" and fills a niche none of the other streaming services honestly can... content for kids. All of them have a few cartoons, but nothing to the levels of Disney, and with Disney+, there is no chance of kids seeing "Boobs the Musical" in the listings next to Mary Poppins. Also, no adult anime mixed in with kids fare. I know a hundred parents who are adding, or replacing Netflix, Disney+.

If it has that kind of saturation in the market, it'll be easy for Disney to move between cartoons, Disney+ series, and the bigscreen MCU, because they can all be marketed together, and most homes will have it.

Disney+ is doing a Willow sequel series! I love Willow... only thing though is I mostly loved will because of Val Kilmer.
