Love the figures!

And very nice pictures ,btw!:thumbs

Digging that "v3" retro body...NECA is getring one step over conventional MEGOs design, and offering really cool clothed figures!

These look way better than expected and a great shoot Joe!

The one thing I think is weird is that the package art never changed so that V3 body must have been pulled off pretty late in the production since the package doesn't even match the figure.

This was an easy pass for me, but your shoot and praise of the new body may have me looking into the these and future retro-clothed figures from NECA.

I was already looking forward to this set, but your review and pics took that anticipation up a few notches.

Yes, that's weird.. Maybe they got this body produced before expected, for a different figure release, and take advantage of that?

Package photos like that are typically done with early samples or even hand painted prototypes. They usually have to get those out for approval from the licensor early on. Then over to the packaging designer, who may be free lancing and not in the studio, so they can be run at the same time as the figures in the factory.

I am familiar with the hand painted protos used on packing art, I remember reading an article about Transformers and that one person (Mark Maher) hand paints every figure used on the packing and I was blown away that one person could contribute so much for a line.

I also remember boxes/cards stating that the actual product may differ from the pictures, but I am not sure if that is still printed today.
