The price is most definitely unjustifiably high! But, I feel like giving them a chance. I really hope they don't screw this up!

Hope they could one day continue with the MGS they've left off.

They did three. All were Bring Arts and were really mediocre. What really made me mad is that they released one version, and then not even a year had passed when they announced a 2.0 of the same figure. They also had one in a white dress with more tanned skin tone along with the 2.0.

This is why I am weary. They’ve acted really sleazy lately, and I feel like I will get this DX, and six months later, they will announce a 2.0.

I wouldn't call it sleazy. They simply produced a figure that was criticized a lot and probably didn't sold too well, while there was a high demand for a good 2B. So they tried again and the next version got better. Not perfect but definitely an improvement compared to the first version and the amount of accessories was really decent as well. Sure, you usually don't expect a new version after a rather short time but considering we have millions of Iron Mans out there and the initial product wasn't what people expeced, it's not the worst thing a company can do. So I doubt there will be another 2.0 in the 10'' segment, as long as this one is decent enough and since it already looks like a bigger version of the Bring Arts and the Bring Arts doesn't have a 3.0 version, well it makes it even less likely.

It is sleazy, though.

Because it clearly proves that they made a figure, which they clearly consider below par by today’s standards and still sold it for an expensive price point. Usually, companies issue 2.0 when the technology and design advances (like Saber 2.0 and Saber Alter 2.0 by Figma). But, that naturally happens years later. This was before even a year had passed, which is indeed being sleazy.

On the weapons, they should have rightly included it in the first release! Instead, they went for a double dip yet again, before a year had even passed.

As for a 3.0, quite honestly they really should release one given that 2.0 wasn’t really a great figure and still suffered from a lot of QC issues. But, they will probably do that at some point, and are probably waiting for the 2.0 to get sold out (it is still in stock, probably because not many people were willing to buy so soon after 1.0).

Anyway, their sleazy practice is quite clear from the way they are selling FFVII Cloud figures with different swords now. I have this DX on PO now because PAK was my first line and I have a sentimental bias to the line, but I do think being weary is justified.

P.S. even the pricing is sleazy when you consider the fact that this is a license that Square owns. So, they don’t even have anything like licensing costs to worry about. They instead went for Flare release pricing and probably thought of this release because that one did so well.
