I usually don't like these random 'throw some paint stripes on a stormtrooper' variants like this or Incinerator trooper, but the gear on this one looks pretty fun and awesome. Might just pick it up. Wish he came with one blaster just to have but I'm sure I can pick one of those up easy enough or might have a spare anyhow.

Hot Toys is falling into that same rut as Sideshow did with just doing cheap repaints of their troopers instead of more unique figures.

I'm still waiting for the AOTC Padme, Bespin Han, and other important figures teased LONG ago (like 2-3 years now) or outright shown at conventions. Also waiting for the Clone Wars Obi-Wan teased more recently. They put up preorders for CW Anakin but not CW Obi-Wan. :(

They do make some odd choices, but troopers pay the bills for Star Wars. Same molds, same bodies, etc, close to same prices as everything else.

I agree that the repaints are kinda lame. The trooper design is like Iron Man armor: they'll keep cranking out variants as long as there are buyers.

I would love to buy a Hot Toys version of Han (Harrison Ford) in his Hoth outfit or Bespin outfit. I missed the Sideshow Hoth figure that came out a few years ago. Prices in the after market are ridiculous.
