Lol, give that person a raise, for coming up with the packaging. Wolverine is hurt, boys.

I wanna see more TMNT and MOTU

Road Pig 07-20-2021 11:30 AM

I love it, but I wish the scale was smaller. Doesn't really fit in anywhere in my collections.

emeraldnite 07-20-2021 11:32 AM

Really hope that plastic holding the figure up is easily removable and not affixed to the bed in anyway--don't want to tear the bed diorama, as that is likely how I would keep the figure posed. Surprised they don't consider the pillow an accessory.

dukefett 07-20-2021 12:19 PM

That's just incredible lol

ddarko 07-20-2021 12:35 PM

lol, this is pretty funny. Something you would feel like an April Fools day announcement. But, I like the cel shaded cartoony look they pulled off here. Wouldn't be worth it for me unless they are making the whole team though. Then again, the whole team at $200/figure will definitely be expensive.

They've done pretty well with their Batman TAS and MOTU lines, I think X-Men is more popular than both and will sell.

X-Men TAS fans aren't nearly as numerous but they've been starved of product from their show a whole lot more than Batman TAS fans have, and may be a whole lot hungrier

DarkEyes 07-20-2021 01:21 PM

Ok, that's a different box!

I don't know about that. Bring up the X-Men cartoon and I hear nothing but praise for it.

EvilMonkeyPope 07-20-2021 01:49 PM

That sad head is too exaggerated to match the scene.

That's been the flipside of my experience. It's been either people saying they remember it being good, or people going "yeah, the serialization is cool and I can see why I loved it as a kid, but it hasn't aged well at all"

With B:TAS, the adult rewatch group seems to be much more gushing about how it's held up, and tops a lot of people's lists of "definitive" adaptations of the character

But when it comes to our interests, we all live in some kind of bubble of one shape or another, I wouldn't be shocked if my experiences have been out of the norm

Dolemite 07-20-2021 02:11 PM

Taken out of context, this set has major masturbatory overtones. Eew.

BagJo 07-20-2021 05:25 PM

I wouldn't get this because of scale, but I think the figure looks great amd the packaging is genius.

NeilJam 07-20-2021 06:09 PM

When might they make Jubilee? I already have the Legends 1:6 scale/10" Wolverine, I just need Jubie to tag along with him.

So you're telling me there's a chance.

I didn't keep up with the series past the first season in the 90s. Currently watching through it on Disney+ and I think it has held up pretty well, much better than any 80s toon. It mostly stayed true to the current comics at the time and has several non-mutant cameos. I admit I'm slightly biased as I collected all the X-Universe titles around those years.

Several is an understatement. The show probably holds some kind of record for cameo appearances.

carefully!

Much Like the Batman Animated series line, I have not invested until they say they plan to go deep.

I would argue that the Fantastic Four cartoon of the 90's had the most. Even showing X-Men who never appeared in X-Men cartoons. The show is often listed as one of the worst Marvel cartoons of that decade. I believe that has more to do with the 1st season than the highly improved upon season 2 (all new art style, adapting some of Byrne's classic 80's issues and more classic Kirby and Lee issues; better than any Marvel cartoon to date)...I mean season 2 of FF is better than Iron Man: Force Works, Avengers Assemble, Spider-Man Unlimited (Spidey in space with alien animals) and The Incredible Hulk (a few cool episodes but a lot more misses, the good episodes feature Hulk with other hero's (always loved the Sasquatch episode even though they made him full villian) and when he became Joe Fix It.
Off the top of my head here are other heroes who appeared in the Fantastic Four animated series: Daredevil (1st animated in costume appearance I believe), Hulk (double crossover from Hulk show), Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider (Ben O'Riley), Ghost Rider, Captain America, Black Panther, T'Chaka, Namor (+ his roster), Black Bolt and the Inhumans (first BB animated appearance as leader), She Hulk, Goliath (Clint version) Tygra, Vision, Hercules, Rage, The New Warriors (Darkhawk, Justice (Marvel Boy), Speedball), Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Gambit, Sabra, Juggernaut, Nova, the Watcher, the original Human Torch and OF COURSE the Silver Surfer.
Also 1 of the TMNT and The Biker Mice were shown as well.

I think that wins.

Impressive, you are someone who knows things. I couldn't agree with you more, nor could I have said it any better.

lol Sabra...I mean, c'mon.

People wanting to know more about the potential of the X-Men line should check out the livestream Mondo had back in July. There was also a lengthy interview with the XTAS runners. I tried to post a link, but I am too new of a forum member to do so. Look under the Mondo blog posts for July 24th to find it.

My summary and impressions related to the X-Men toys based on their video is that:

1) They showed digital renders of Magneto TAS meaning he is likely the next release (not counting the Wolverine variants as different releases)
2) There is a coming standard tiger-stripe Wolverine release that won’t have the bed packaging, pillow, or very sad Wolverine face.
3) The crew was very enthusiastic about wanting to go deep into the line, but of course no promises.
4) They promised a different Morph head with every release.
5) They verbally emphasized Jubilee in a way that sounded like she might be the third release after Magneto barring complications.
6) They also had a “oh right, of course Sabertooth” moment which made me think he might be the fourth release.

Thank you TheBlueMarvel, your words of validation actually mean a lot to me. Cheers
