I find it interesting that after years of “Mezco-izing” characters for the One:12 line, they now seem to be sticking much more closely to the source material rather than putting their own spin on it.

The Batman/Two Face set looks interesting but I’m not really a Golden Age fan. Maybe I’ll feel differently when the set is fully revealed. But it does give me hope that we’ll see a Bronze Age/Neal Adams style Batman from Mezco some time soon.

I'm with jwyss234 about Mezco figures. They've improved a lot.

I'd love to see a Mezco interpretation of Batman's armor from Batman vs. Predator.

Hope we see some non-Batman DC reveals in One:12...
Mezco’s almost as bad as Todd these days. This is probably what, the 10th or 11th Batman in the past 3 or so years? I get that DC believes he’s their most popular character, but it’s annoying how much they neglect the rest—they would be very bad parents if these characters were real children...

Wish they would update on the seamless Keaton Batman.

What I don’t understand with Mezco is Spider-Man is just as popular. Could’ve easily used different variations of One/12 Spider-Man figures, cuz that would make them just as much money as they would with Batman.

My original comment wasn't praise or criticism of past Mezco figures. I was just making the observation that they seem to have changed the overall aesthetic for Marvel and DC figures.

That's really not an apples to apples comparison.

Spiderman's most popular costumes are his traditional red and blue suit and the black symbiote suit. After that, most of his costumes are pretty niche. When the price tag is $80+ per figure, you're going to find a limited group of consumers who'll buy costumes like Big Time, Noir, Spider Punk, and Iron Spider. And since Mezco can't repaint a basic figure to make these niche costumes the way Hasbro can, it becomes less appealing to make them.

That monsters set looks great. But on a related topic.... still waiting for that 5POA Scooby Doo set that was shown TWO years ago! When will that ever be offered for preorder??

I just keep hoping on Scooby Doo. But there's some pretty cool reveals. Nothing I'm very interested in though. Not even Dr. Doom. Wait scratch that. The monsters playset is awesome.

I’m not pre-ordering anything else from Mezco until they deliver One:12 Conan. It’s approaching 2 years since I pre-ordered it, it was supposed to be released last summer, yet here we are and not a word about it.

Shame no one outside Hasbro doing unmasked rangers.

I always thought Dr. Doom would be a perfect fit for the One:12 line, simply because while many companies could do a Doom in 1:12-scale with a cloth hood and cape, all of them would stop at the tunic and make it molded plastic instead.

But Mezco can pull it off. What could be a weakness on other figures (head made out of other material even though it should be identical to the suit) is a natural look for Dr. Doom. The materials come together just right.

I can't wait to see what accessories they pack in with this release.

The numerous Batman releases aren't due to the popularity. I think it's simply because Batman is Mez's favorite character. He's said it quite a few times in interviews that he loves Batman most.

That mezco monsters set reminds me of the old monsters playsets McFarlane did in the early 2000's, would love if someone would pick up the torch on those.
