Not yet, but this one will probably out-sell any of the other figures announced so far for 2022.

Straight from Amazon

DC Multiverse Damien Wayne (Death Metal)..........Despite being Infinite Frontier.

I think the head looks like my idea younger Robin head. Even if you don't like the costume, the head has custom written all over it.

But this hand thing has ceased to be funny. Two fists is not difficult.
I'm also a little over capes billowing in the wind. Just have them come straight down or you know be removable.

jwyss234 01-12-2022 04:08 PM

Both Batman and Robin look awesome. Can't wait!

More Batman

Listings for this Batman, Robin, and Clayface are up on Amazon. Not really active, so you didn't miss a preorder window.

Raine24 01-12-2022 06:21 PM

Hey, uh, Bats, you got something around your mouth... yeah, that side... other side too... how did you do that... what were you even eating?

The figure on the card being clean shaven makes it even sillier, but then, have any of the figure photography cards been worth putting near the toy itself?

The figure is dope, though!

Tony_Bacala 01-12-2022 07:29 PM

Thanks all. Front paged with the Amazon links for those wanting to stalk.

OriginalFire 01-12-2022 07:33 PM

Clayface looks a million times better with a closed mouth.

Road Pig 01-12-2022 08:22 PM

Batman looks like he was getting "friendly" with Clayface! Seriously though, McFarlane needs to learn to do stubble better. The Westley from the Princess Bride was almost ruined by it.

Besides that, cool figures.

themadbubbler 01-12-2022 08:41 PM

Why won't McFarlane do anything based on classic comics? Comic readership is much lower than it used to be, and figures based on characters' iconic looks from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and even 90s would sell well. The figures that aren't based on modern comics are just a hodge podge of random source material- we have a Teen Titans Cyborg, but no other Teen Titans animated figures over a year later. The McFarlane line has been a big disappointment for me.

How would you know this?

I hope you realize that once upon a time, someone hated those looks, too, and yearned for Batman from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.

I still hate the Balent purple Catwoman.

Plus, the Three Jokers figures are pretty "classic" and "retro" if that's what floats your boat.

RodimusZX 01-12-2022 09:23 PM

Not gonna lie, that is a pretty good looking Batman, face giving off a slight Affleck vibe. Think maybe his thighs are too thick, though. Kind of looks like it has child-bearing hips.

Still... sigh. Another Bat-only wave. I recognize we did just get a few non-Bat characters like Aquaman and Martian Manhunter recently, but it's still 70%/30% Bats to DC...

looks like Affleck to me too

Dormamu 01-12-2022 10:42 PM

Just in time for the next toilet paper shortage, here comes Clayface. Appropriate.

Rebirth Batman looks good. Reminds me of an amalgam of Arkham alternate skin Batman and the face is more movie-esque.

The WB/DC is trying to promote current material. Hard to do if all you're selling is material from the 60's to 90's.

Really how much deviation is there that more recent stories haven't brought back into the fold?

Many characters right now look like they did way back when with some tweaks. A decade ago that sorta wasn't the case.

If we look at the latest releases. We got Batman designs from the 80's.

It's still the Batman focus that's annoying.

IzzyTipsy 01-13-2022 06:34 AM

Looks great but between side glances and now closed fists, this is getting annoying.

How does McFarlane not know how to make a proper "action" figure? I guess he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to add any articulation at all.

Is it that hard to add an interchangeable hand?

And now a maskless Robin Gold Label.

BarbaraGordon 01-13-2022 08:45 AM

It kinda blows my mind that McF's sculptors can make such pretty/beautiful unmasked female faces but really miss the mark with unmasked male faces.

Designincase 01-13-2022 09:27 AM

Well that unmasked figure makes me want to punch him square in his smug face.....so success?

I gotta be negative because they keep making the same mistakes over and over and it's a shame because they are doing some good stuff.

Again I strongly dislike making an alt head a separate figure.

That you can offer a combo at $24 just added to the nonsense. The figures aren't doing enough to warrant multiple copies like this.

Again I strongly dislike making heads side eye if it's the only head.

Yeah that eye glance works for the picture they took, not everyone wants to replicate the pose on the card. I don't know where this love affair started.

Maybe the designers thought they needed to add more life to the figures but neglected to think about the customers?

------------
Not really trusting the Mcfarlane store at the moment either. They took money out for a preorder and well you can't cancel on your own and no eta on when it might ship. I don't like that relationship.

Then of course something like these two pack deal fails when their shipping is quite a bit high that it negates the savings.

IzzyTipsy 01-13-2022 10:08 AM

Yeah let's sculpt figures for one pose only.

The McFarlane way.

That head looks way too stylized but I wish we'd get an unmasked Nightwing or Batgirl.

Only if they are able to capture this 100%:

Dont get the sideye hate myself, isnt any more or less limiting than an expressionless look or shouting head.

Designincase 01-13-2022 11:30 AM

The problem with side eye is the expression is always looking to the side. With eyes looking straight ahead, you can always turn the head in the direction of the action. If the action is to the left then you turn the head to the left. To the right - the right. If it's above/below, you tilt the head up/down.

With side eye, the character is always looking to the left no matter which they the head is tilted. It's incredibly limiting.

A shouting head is limiting in establishing mood but it can still look in any direction.

Try it yourself.

Record yourself looking to the side. Now maintaining that, try to look at other angles.

Then do it looking straight ahead.
