Help Identifying this Vintage Robot Toy
 

Just wondering if anyone recognises this robot figure I bought way back in the 80's? I can't remember anything about it, but I think it changes into some kind of battleship:

Aye. He just nodded and gave a thumbs up. Which I believe means "you're welcome" or "glad to help". lol. He enjoyed reading through the whole article himself too. Oh and he noted yours has different chest stickers to the ones in the article. And the stripes on the forearms of yours are a bit thicker. So it might be a different release but at least it gives you plenty of info about where it came from. Enjoy your weekend. :)

Your son is very observant - mine is a KO version of the toy which is almost identical called 'Iron Car' rather than 'Iron Gear'. I remember he was very cheap when I bought him from a market as a child, and that's clearly why!
