When do these go up for pre-order?

I never realized just how different Lion Voltron appears with the lion legs showing vs. the lion legs hidden. SO tempted to get it.

These look like a step up from the Altimeter DX Voltron that came out a couple years ago. The price is high (gonna' avoid BBTS), but I'm pleased to see both Voltrons being offered simultaneously.

No matter the maker or the version, the Black Lion will always be the fat one in the group.

Do they use diecast metal? That could explain the BBTS markup... possibly shipping is $60 / unit off DHL (not sure whether BBTS orders in bulk by surface mail (an actual boat) or orders like we do, with air-freight delivery.

I hear you though--occasionally the US retailers have really high mark-ups compared to us importing ourselves from Japan.

Where else are these on sale?

Given the pricing on those store links that were added, I'm thinking that these guys are just a tad more expensive than the article made them out to be.
