:( I cant beleive the Cryme Syndicate is a Target Exclusive. Now, i will probally never be able to get them.

Oh my gosh, Julie Newmar is looking great! I really wish this line didn't suck so bad overall because between the overall sculpt quality and some of their decisions (like Eartha before Julie) they could do some awesome things. If they stuck to their guns and did it as a 5POA like originally planned, tooling costs might be so cheap we'd already see a Tut or Egghead.

McFarlane is so obsessed with goddamn Batman… he should just marry Batman at this point.

Ya know since all these are pretty much target exclusives why not just send them directly to fucking ebay already, i mean seriously i am sick of fucking exclusives thati can never find and trying to pre order only to have it cancelled. No more exclusives to any chain from now on.

Why are so many of these exclusives now? Lex and Owlman look great why is the only place selling them Target?

I suspect part of that has to do with the desire to keep the $20 retail, and store exclusives are one of the few ways to guarantee a large enough upfront order for economy of scale to work its magic.

Aye, might have to grab me that Newmar Catwoman. And the eyes ain't looking to the sides either. Nice.

Julie Newmar as Catwoman was the hottest thing on television, like, ever. The figure looks great.

That Catwoman figure looks very, very nice. Sincere compliments to the team at McFarlane.

Too bad newmar cat woman isnt the 7inch scale cause shes was the hottest catwoman….with pfiefer running a very close second.

I'm glad they were quick in showing off Owlman. The reveals and releases for the wave sort of lagged between Ultraman and Superwoman. It's nice to know I may not have to wait so long after all. Though I think some of his bits are supposed to silver and not flat gray. That should be easy enough to paint. Also his eyes were hardly ever yellow like that but I think it works well.

That lineart batman looks like someone took a sharpie to a white batman figure and randomly marked it up. Horrible lol

Manga Spawn looks nice

I appreciate the Page Puncher Batman variant being drastically different but not essential.

Owlman looks very good. With Ultraman, nothing against the figure but I liked the Rebirth design better. Also Ultra has the weird hair and heat eyes(which in contrast to Jon Kent, makes sense).

I like the Rebirth Owlman design but the current one works as well. Also I get niteowl vibes. I'm sure someone will make a Niteowl 2 custom.

Bad
Some of these figures are still annoying

Superman Lex Luthor should have been what we got the first go around. The Throne and Darkseid head were just a page. Or they could have given us an alternate head with a removable cape in addition and made it a deluxe priced figure.

With Dark Detective, give us a pair of alternates arms or engineer a removable sleeve.

These variants are just silly in today's market.
Yes you don't have to buy but the company can also just not make these choices. There are other ways to make money off the same mold.


Ugly?

Page Puncher Batman I'd need to see in person. So a poster said it looked like someone took a sharpie to it. Well it's supposed to be a lineart variant. Not a b/w cell shaded. Which means it should look jagged and kinda raw.

I guess the question is if there is audience for it.
I think this is very much personal preference. Some people may think this is a poor attempt at cell shading while others will recognize what it's trying to imitate.

But does it mean the execution is being done well?
I feel like it is but I find it sorta ugly. But I'd rather have something like this then a variant with a different head.

My reception to Manga Spawn is mixed, it looks like a robot version of Medieval Spawn. I was expecting it would look like the original toy. I think I'll have to read Spawn comics again for this. At least Owlman's released.

And to those still complaining up to now how it's all about Batman again, he is DC's hottest-selling property whether we like it or not and people should blame DC for their obsession with Batman.

I've said in the past that I wanted McFarlane to make black and white variants instead of the solid gray and metallic variants that they've made in the past. This is not what I had in mind and it looks bad.

Something more along the lines of the DC Direct Batman Black and White statue line or Sideshow's noir Batman and Joker figures would have looked significantly nicer.

The Manga Spawn doesn't look very Manga. Looks more patriotic medieval than Manga. I think the original Manga Spawn is much much cooler than this.

Im impressed with how many batmans Mcfarlane has put out already .I wasnt aware of so many versions even existing .Most of them are pretty awesome looking . Somewhere theres a collector that only collects Batman and is very happy with what Mcfarlane is doing. I just cant keep getting them all due to plastic overpoplulation .But I would get one of each if I could afford the cost of more and space.
Neato that each crime syndicate member comes with with a starro clone along with the baf piece . Owlman is a must , Catwoman looks good even though I havent dipped into retro,

Going by the Bermejo cover it comes with it, looks like they're trying to replicate that look. The lineart gimmick tends to not look very good on figures anyway. But without the usual feathering and crosshatching glyphs that those decos typically incorporate, its looking like a sloppy mess of ugly globs in this case. Couldn't they just have left it white and given him a cool name like they did with pilot spawn back in the day lol?

I dunno how i feel about Manga Spawn. It has a totally different vibe than any of the old figures. The old ones always had a robo feel to it. Especially the original Manga Spawn figure, which i absolutely loved. This new one is more Medievil Spawn than anything else
