Hot Toys Robocop 3
|
Cool. Expensive toys I will never own but it's nice. The mouth looks like Weller though Robocop 3 had Robert Burke though.
|
What a weird excuse for Hot Toys to re-release this guy under. The 30th anniversary celebration of what was the easily the worst of the Robocop films?
Still nice though for those who missed out....but this is largely the same exact figure as the original outside of the paint schemes. Even the mouth plates look to be the same. If they had corrected some issues the original had (mostly in the hands, which were hyper articulated but made it hard to properly hold his pistol and were a nightmare in terms of the carpet monster boogie man claiming the individual digits) I'd be more inclined, but since I already have the original with a 3rd party arm cannon, I'll be passing. The original though has gotten quite pricey on the aftermarket though in the years since his release, so this is a great chance for those who missed out on that one to get the best representation of Officer Murray to date for your shelf. |
I prefer Robocop 3 to Robocop 2
|
I strongly considered this for a few minutes. While I really like Robocop 3 the movie, I ultimately I prefer the look of the original Robocop without the purple hues, a more blue steel finish.
If they ever re-release the OG Hot Toys Robocop I would be in on that. |

I don't think there's any chance they'll revisit the first one. Them including all the parts to make a regular Robocop basically is them reissuing the first one. |

Aye, the first Hot Toys Robocop got a lot of crits because it lacked the extra hues that the film suit has. So did a couple of the NECA ones over the past ten years or so. It's supposed to have those little patches of blue and purple shining in the otherwise silvery suit. |
Looks pretty good....
Robo not on my list... Still... Looks sweet ;^) |
Without the extra gear it's basically Robocop 2, so this makes total sense. I'm content with owning their first release and MAFEX for 2 & 3.
|
Not sure why so many people are mentioning the lack of purple hues on the previous Hot Toys release of Robo. I'm looking at the figure right now in my living room, and those purple hues ARE there...
|
Robocop 3 is like one of the rare times a movie franchise changed direction from a hard R to PG-13 and it worked.
|
RoboCop is CamelCase, with a capital C, just like in the press release that was pasted.

That said, this is much closer to a RoboCop 2 saturation level, and it seems to be missing any yellow applications, so you're losing the green overlaps, too. :( Quote:
