Archangel 3rd Variant?

Look at the figure out of focus in the foreground. His markings are different then the current one

Looks like thicker lines and more red.

TheSymbiote 07-24-2010 03:59 PM

i noticed this a while ago but i was too lazy to bring it up

TheSymbiote 07-24-2010 04:05 PM

technically its a 4th variant because of the x-force archangel

aquanet 08-03-2010 06:34 PM

As if it wasn't hard enough to find the a regular one.

Really? Then it's a good thing I only like the death mask version....

Well that's a separately released figure with its own figure number, so it's not a variant.

trebleshot 08-05-2010 06:32 AM

Remold/redeco, yes. Variant, no.

EDIT: To clarify, I was talking about the X-Force version of Archangel, not the one in the OP.

The one on display at SDCC was probably just a hand-painted demo like most of the figures in those cases. That is why the colors are slightly different from production. I wouldn't expect this to be found in the wild.

After looking at the blurry image above and an image of the "regular" Archangel and it doesn't look that much different. Sure, the colors seem more red than purple and his right pec and shoulder would appear to have different markings. However, I believe this is due to the angle of the figure to the camera when the image was taken. Either that or sloppy paint apps on that side, since the opposite side appear to match the markings on the purple Archangel just fine.

I agree. Nothing seems different. Most likely Camera problems. OR Running change IF anything.

it's possible it's an early pre-production figure as well
