Hot Toys, if you make more stuff like this maybe next year Sideshow won't have to close preorders early and have a fire sale that they swear won't be coming back.

I'll leave the jokes about what is included with Padme and what's not included to everyone else.

Finally

Sideshow started making 12" Star Wars figures way back in 2006. Counting when Hot Toys took over, it has taken us SEVENTEEN years to finally get a Padme figure from the films. This is also the first time we're finally getting AOTC Anakin, despite multiple versions of ROTS Anakin having already been released over the years. That's just sad that it's taken this long.

Kind of weird they are branding these as AOTC 20th anniversary figures when technically the 20th anniversary in 2022 ends in 2 weeks and these figures won't be out until much later in 2023. They should have offered these for preorder LAST December so that we would have already had them this past summer when the anniversary actually took place. I can't wait until next December when they first reveal ROTJ 40th anniversary figures due out in 2024! ;)

Both look amazing though, obviously much better quality now than if Sideshow had done them 10+ years ago. Now for the obvious question: Where's the alternate torn shirt for Padme? Is Disney banning it like their ridiculous ban on all Slave Leia merchandise now, or is Hot Toys planning to release a 2nd Padme later on with that alternate outfit?? If it's the latter, hopefully her boots and the rest of the outfit has some orange-hued Geonosis dirty weathering on them, along with the scratches on her back, to better differentiate it from this first "clean" version.

And yeah, hopefully they do AOTC Obi-Wan too. What's all this talk about problems with likeness approval I've been seeing in other postings online? That's never been an issue before when making him, and they currently have the version of him from the Disney+ series up for preorder. Is Ewan sudddenly being difficult with approving an AOTC version? Is that also why we're still waiting on a Clone Wars Obi-Wan to go with the Clone Wars Anakin that went up for preorder many months ago? Is approval issues just speculation from the collector community, or is there some official word on it?

On a related note, we're STILL waiting on that Bespin Han that was teased around the same time as this Padme figure 3+ years ago, and Ford being difficult with approving its headsculpt was the ongoing rumor for why we never got this figure too when it was originally intended for the ESB 40th anniversary in 2020. :(

If only their episode 3 looked this good.
