Storm Collectibles Darkstalkers Morrigan Aensland Figure Full Reveal (FINALLY)
6 Attachment(s)
After what seems like an eternity, Storm Collectibles has FINALLY shared their full reveal on Facebook for their Darkstalkers Morrigan Aensland figure, which looks AMAZING. Articulation looks on-point as well, including multiple joints for her wings. Due out Q2 2024.
And LOL at that one alternate head from her hit animation. https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695934751 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695934964 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695934964 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695934964 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695935321 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1695935323 |

I'm not sold on the face, but that articulation looks heaps better than I thought they'd pull off, really impressed here!

That face is pretty disappointing but at least she has more fighting effects than they gave Demitri.

Probably not going to wait for BBTS to get it in, I'm going to probably import it. |
This might be the only time where a character's clothes are genuinely painted on with not even a slight raised edge, is perfectly apt.
EDIT: HA! Had been looking at it on my phone. Just saw a better pic and there is indeed a slight raise to it. Still looks great. Not doing a complete edit/delete because I'd rather own my dopeyness. :) |
I’ve never seen her with bulging eyes before. It’s just so weird to me. I only know her from MvsC2 game so that’s probably why.
I still think Storm Collectibles is a pretty mediocre action figure company. Too overpriced for what they’re offering. Their likeness of the characters almost never look right, especially the ones from Tekken and Mortal Kombat. Their Street Fighter figures are pretty great, though, probably the best they’ve done. This particular figure looks pretty great to me. Looks quite accurate, imo. However, they should totally finish up DC characters, I’d love Injustice Superman that they never released. |

The face isn't terrible but this hardly resembles any of her prominent official artworks and you ought to wonder what reference they were working off of.
Far worse though, her accesories are severely lacking especially when Storm is usually great at depicting the fighter's gimmicks and moveset through their accessories. Stuff like the reused Demitri bat, we should've gotten a proper Soul Fist effect piece or even her ground spikes. Even a variety of pre-posed wing options for different poses would've been desirable, but instead we get four hair pieces with two of them looking very similar anyway. I'm still tempted to order but this is genuinely underwhelming when you consider how long they've sat on this. |

Morrigan's had so many different looks across all the offical games, artwork, and anime she's been in. Her face isn't perfect but as you can see in the picture below it's a pretty damn good match between some of her versions. I'm totally fine with it but if I HAD to nitpick I'd say they could make her face less of a V, darken the green on her eyes a bit, and maybe make her lips a bit bigger.

But when I blow up the pictures and get a good, close-up look at her face, I think it actually looks much better than when viewed at a distance. I'm liking it more and more. It works better than the cherub-like look they gave her in Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite. Either way, it's a great figure. |
The face is a mix of Darkstalkers and the original anime look. Not bad.
Why is Storm quoting Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite for character bios? Are they doing VS games figures? Is a Marvel license not far behind? |
Seems overdue for a Darkstalkers line. Isn’t most people most familiar with Morigan? I would’ve thought that’d be like 1st wave.

I'm a huge Darkstalkers fan. I love Darkstalkers more than Street Fighter. But this figure is disappointing.
1st is the insane price. Over $100 for a tiny 6" figure? I won't pay Hasbro $24.99. $19.99 is my limit for a 6" figure. And I don't care about inflation or smaller production runs. I simply will not pay more than $19.99 for a figure. 2nd are her proportions. She has Chun-Li hips. Morrigan was never that fat from the waist down. She looks deformed in that 1st pic. Laughably bad. For over $100 she needs to be absolutely perfect! And this figure is far from it. |
You won't find a bigger Darkstalkers fan than me and I'm perfectly happy with the figure. And she's been portrayed with very curvy proportions ever since she was first introduced, given the fact that she's a succubus and she's supposed to be "sexy."
And LOL @ you for complaining that this figure isn't $20. Maybe ask mommy to increase your allowance. |
