Man, I hope Pan and Trunks are general releases. Would be nice to finally replace my old Jakks ones in my Figuarts displays

both likely gen release because trunks is popular and most people getting goku and trunks will likely have a "might as well" attitude toward pan

What is different with this vegeta compared to the other scouter one? Are the faces different or something?

Technically new sculpt, tho looks similar. The collar shows blue all around the neck line. Breast plate sculpting cuts shift down on the sides differently on new one. Refined faces, the yelling one is uniquely new. Hair is a little less wide, more tall on new one. Colors a bit less saturated than last release. No waist flaps, no tail port.

Miss the days of every dbz figuart getting a general release at this point

ive been collecting this line since 2011 there was never a time when every release was general. im not sure what timeline youre referring to here

Until premium bandai got an American site unless it was a con exclusive every release was mass release

After the og three(goku, picolo and gohan) came out basically everything was a bandai web exclusive until the 2.0 era began with battle damaged super saiyan goku. American shops were buying
Through middle men in japan that were ordering from bandai.that was at least until blue fin came and started distributing product that were web exclusive in japan which is likely why you thought every release was general until p bandai america became a thing just because every american store had it. Technically anythintg that isnt mass release in japan and not available through ami ami or other stores like it

More are being marked exclusive, however, more are being made. There used to be like 4 a year, then 8 a year, the 16, now there are 24 a year. Etc, generally, didn't do exact number research.

And, there was a stretch where mass retail stuff sat like rocks.

So, if they need to do exclusives so they can sell less units and make more cash per unit to keep the line worth going, then I'm all for it.

I think they realized that the mass market for high end figures can't support multiple slight variants, or 2nd/3rd tier 50-100 dollar figures. It can handle Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, etc. And that's mostly what drops at retail now.

That being said, not sure why this Vegeta isn't mass market, I think it would be an easy sell to the casual fan and jumper-inners.

It was probably when I jumped into the line but yeah bluefin basically got every figure and every reissue/repaint so most of the line became mass release by repaint or otherwise. It felt like I didn't have to jump through hoops to get any character I wanted.

Not seeing worth the price. Has less than 1st appearance Vegeta, who I can just lose the tail & say he’s post-Earth fight. They could’ve made that 1 more adaptable by allowing the kusazari/thigh armor be removed, that’s really the only difference. This new 1 is made kind of wonky, being too wide & poses don’t look right with the shoulder spaulders having a big gap with any movement. At least his next armor in anime has more difference in color & everything & extra parts could be like the holes from Krillin & Frieza—if they do that as it should.
