So I get up at 4am for this Black Friday thing this morning hoping that I would find SOMETHING new at such an odd hunting time and I did. I finally nabbed a set of all four the new DC Universe 2-packs! I get them home and after a few hours of sleep to catch up I rip out the Abin Sur figure only to find that he has 2 left legs! Not only that Green Lanterns shoulder wouldn't move until it just snapped clean off! This is also two days after I find an Eradicator at Wal-Mart only to have him have two right fists.....:(

I swear, if I get one more retarded figure I am melting them all down and shipping the hunk to Mattel! All I am saying is before you purchase these figures at the store (or worse, ebay) MAKE SURE IT HAS ALL THE RIGHT PARTS!

Azrael has always been a fav of mine...the GL set is awesome and I'll snag that.

I really like the look of that Batgirl/Azrael 2-pack. The others, I'm not really sold on. In fact, that Orion looks similar to the single carded version (though it just could be the size of the pic).

I looked for these before under the "DC Universe Classics" & I get a few of the single figures, if I searched for "DC Exclusive" I got them, even though "Exclusive" isn't in the description. Anyways, if you want to risk it, go get them. I just picked up the Azrael/Batgirl, all I ask is that they're anatomically correct...

I will be picking up the Orion set. NEW GODS FTW!!!!!!!!! Very impressed by how they accomplished the helmet gimmick.

He's very similar. In fact, the only difference is a new head -- his helmet's now removable.

But then, neither Batgirl nor Azrael are new.

Not really, apparently. I've been trying to order them since yesterday. Even if they say "in stock", when I try to add them to my cart, I get this:I swear, TRU might as well not have an online store.

Paint lock has definitely been a problem with this line, but I've not had anything break. I did have to do a little carving around my single-carded GL's hip to get it freed up, though.

But I've certainly not heard anything about incorrect parts. I don't know how the factory was even able to put a left leg on the right hip.

I really hope my local TRUs get some of these packs. Only want one but due to the paint apps problems I got to see them before I make a purchase.

I just got my Azrael/Batgirl 2 pack from TRU.com, & I ordered them Saturday! The box is in perfect shape too, pics to follow when I have a minute.

I have tp get the Batgirl pack. I'm glad she was reissued, I missed her the first time when she was a Target Exclusive.

Yeah, I never saw her and only saw Azrael once in stores, so if I happen to come across that 2-pack, I might get it.

These actually are pretty impressive. I saw one left in store, but didnt grab it. No cash at the time.

I stocked a case of these night before last. They look good. But, yeah....paint app problems kept me from getting the Batgirl pack. Paint on her face and eyes were sloppy.

I might get the GL pack for Abin Sur and make a new GL out of the extra Hal.

I'll make sure to inspect the Batgirls before I purchase mine then.

No offense but...you do sort of have to inspect anything you buy from DC Universe line. If you are not careful you can end up with a Batman Beyond with 2 left hands!

Despite being listed as in stock, I never was able to get the GL or New Gods set into my cart. Now, of course, they're all listed as out of stock.

Found the GL and New Gods 2-packs today...

... and Abin Sur's left leg twisted right off at the hip as soon as I first tried to move it. :mad: Same thing happened to my Batman Beyond figure when I got it last week. And BOTH of Lightray's hips seem like they'll do the same thing if I try any harder to get them to rotate.

Anyone have any suggestions for freeing up paint-locked joints without breakage?

As for preventative maintenance, either hot water to soften the plastic and working it free or a utility knife to make small cuts work well.

For my 6" DCUC or Movie Masters figures from Mattel that had stuck joints, I shoved them into the freezer for a few minutes and after that, slowly moved the joints, trying to break the paint seal. It has worked so far.

i cant find a halfway decent batgirl. is that nasty grey brush over the body necessary, both figures ive seen have it go right over the bat symbol.
