Iron Man Legends series out

Found them at TRU today. 17.99 seems a bit excessive but they look very good. Paint jobs were real tight throught. The Hulk Buster Armor is especially cool looking.

That price is excessive, what the hell?

itMFtis 03-01-2011 09:41 AM

Saw them at TRU as well. Nice looking molds, but $18 is about $8 more than I want to pay for them.

Yup, better off ordering off of BBTS.

jamesmruddy 03-01-2011 01:26 PM

They had War Machine and the Mark VI Iron Man up for pre-order. Titanium Man is listed there as well, but out of stock.

Co-sign...TRU's price is nearly double!

itMFtis 03-04-2011 08:42 AM

These will be available at other retailers besides TRU right? Like Target and Walmart? I'm not paying $18 at TRU and shipping kills any good pricing at BBTS.

itMFtis 03-22-2011 05:53 AM

My IM Mark VI from this line has a real floppy torso. Is it just sitting on a ball joint like the head? Can it be pulled apart without breaking anything? Was hoping to use the nail polish trick to tighten the ball joint if that is how it's put together.

Dude I really hope so.

I heard it may be tricky to take it apart I haven't done it but it can't just be pulled off iirc

Wave 1 has hit BBTS - wave 2 is also scheduled for this month.

behindthemask 03-22-2011 03:31 PM

The Iron man and War Machine figures are identical to the ones Walmart released as exclusives. Which I picked up, along with the suitcase armour * not avail in the new line same with the tony stark head sculpt version. The Titanium Man is sweet I picked it up, very nice toy, the hulkbuster is repaint of the suberterrain armour that came in the TRU 3 pack a while back, instead of being red and black he's not the iron man red and yellow colors and comes with an attatchable piece to add gurth and make him the "hulkbuster" IMO it's a terrible Hulkbuster design, the IM2 3 3/4'' line version is what should of been made with an open cockpit for tony's head to be shown. Crimson Dynamo and the retooled war machine figure is what I will grab from the next line.

Waves 1 & 2 both arrived from BBTS today. Couple thoughts...

First off, the Wave 1 War Machine mold (generally the same as the WM release) may be my favorite 6" figure... like, ever. The Heavy Artillery IM1 mold is a poor choice for a 'Hulkbuster', but the mold's so awesome I can live with it. Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, and the Stealth Mark IV are terrific.

Two big disappointments from these eight figures... the black and gold Mark V is so loose it will barely stand - collapses under its own weight if you breathe on it. Hopefully that issue is unique to mine and not a widespread problem. Perhaps the joints were intended to be painted but ended up being molded in black, creating the looseness? Either way, will have to work on him a bit. I really, really dislike the 'animated' War Machine, but that stems from my dislike for the style, not the figure itself. Apparently my dislike for animated stuff isn't only limited to Transformers. :)

All in all, a neat set.

I enjoyed reading your comments AMS, the war machine and Mark vi/iv? w.e it is Iron man are Identical to the Walmart exclusive figures, I know because I was lucky enough to snag the Walmart Exclusive war machine, suitcase armour and regular iron man. I agree the war machine figure is probably 1 of my favorite 6'' figures. And even at $18.99 it's still worth it. At my local walmart there's 1-2 pegs full of the suitcase armour, I have the feeling it wasn't as big a seller as the others so they just repackaged and repainted it. I snagged the Titanium man and he is pure-fucking-winning *charlie sheen inspired comment ha. I have the feeling Crymson Dynamo is the same. The stealth armour looks sick as I missed out on the ML, movie and marvel select versions. I dig him, and I actually enjoy the anime themed War Machine, very cool IMO, and would rather get him over the hulk buster figure. I have the original ML hulkbuster and that toy is so big and badass compaired to this retooled heavy artilary figure..... may still get him at some point.

Fxfranz said the same thing about wave 2, except he liked wave 2 War Machine. Is stealth iron man worth getting if you already have rdj mark IV?

I'm not sure the original WM releases and these are absolutely 100% the same, but I don't have mine handy to a side by side comparison. They're certainly similar enough to where the average buyer probably wouldn't notice or care about the differences. I actually found all of Wave 1 at TRU a few weeks back, but as much as I like them, $18.99 each was out of the question for me. They worked out to about $13.75 apiece for the sets at BBTS.

Well they don't actually unpack, repaint and repackage figures, of course... but all my local WMs have full pegs of the Mark V, so I'd agree he was probably not a terrific seller.

On the WM Mark V, all the joints are painted red, and they're tight. On the new one, the entire toy is molded in black plastic (no layer of paint) so I'm thinking that's the reason why it's looser. Again, could be just the one I got.

I'd say wait until you see it in person and see if the paint job does it for you. I don't like it as much as some previous stealth armors, but I do like the mold.

I also neglected to mention that the legs on the animated War Machine (which were from a later-wave IM1 toy, as many of you know) were very loose as well. No matter, he's headed for the back of the display anyway. :lol

It dawned on me recently that I've not updated my collection pics in a while - nothing since all the IM2 stuff hit. As soon as the Hot Toys Mark V comes out, I'm going to do a detailed shoot of all those.
