Was Chewbacca really needed? I suppose they needed a big, strong tech guy, but I think I would have much rather have a new character than a blatant fan-wank. Thoughts?

Wouldn't a Mandalorian have been more interesting? Did those guys just disappear off the face of the galaxy?

As far as season finale's go, this was just boring. The only reason to have Chewbacca in there was to get more people to watch. He served virtually no purpose. The only thing this showed to me was that Asoka probably becomes a jedi and then dies during order 66. Everybody keeps waiting to see if she's going to die during this show, but I doubt it's going to happen.

I thought it was a bit boring, BUT, I did dig the Chewbacca cameo. I want more connection to the IV V VI trilogy in this series. In ways that make sense, of course. Not forced in. Some young Lando and Han stuff would be ideal.

Meh. I thought the way Tarkin was worked into his episodes was better than the random appearance of Chewie.
