Doesn't "exoskeleton" mean on the outside? Shouldn't that be "endoskeleton"?

Prime dude 04-28-2011 07:47 PM

For some reason, I want that GL Barbie.

Colder Soldier 04-28-2011 09:16 PM

Yeah. Toy Guru is an idiot. Anyway...

QUEEN MARLENA and CRINGER!!!

Deefuzz 04-28-2011 09:23 PM

I don't understand the love for Swamp Thing.

At least Voltron looks cool.

Joe Moore 04-29-2011 04:11 AM

Why no Brightest Day Swamp Thing? That's kind of a bummer. Voltron looks ok. But I have no interest in a static Voltron. The draw is that it becomes five individual lions that combine. Will wait on that version.

metalalchemist 04-29-2011 07:27 AM

:( Want Stay Puft and can´t go to comic con...

nomad1632 04-29-2011 12:14 PM

I gotta ask what the hell is with the swamp things hip joints its 2011 not 1980s articulation that totally kills the figure!

Runamuck 04-30-2011 07:11 AM

I didn't see Cringer. Or Queen Marlena...who I'm assuming is MotU too.

I want that damn Stay Puft!

Hahaha i swear mattel have some sort of weird negative psychology thing going on:

Mattel suit one: but sir,our figures are rubbish compared to the oppositions.....
Mattel suit two: i know that you idiot, but ours are SO bad the geeks wont actually believe it....and buy them anyway

HEY MATTEL GET A F**KING CLUE WOULD YOU!!! I WANT to buy your product but its SO p**s poor you couldnt give the damn things away!! Hasbro are far from perfect but their product is kicking your asses!!! NOW STEP THE HELL UP!!! GIVE US TOYS WE WANT HOW WE WANT THEM!!! And yes that means with more than 5 points of articulation, and more than a passing resemblance to the character its representing!!! GODDAMMIT!!!

Will Kilowog be released in stores? Or is it just for sdcc? Cause It Kicks Ass!

I know he's got fans, but I think it's more for the notoriety. IIRC Alan Moore fought with DC over the rights to Swamp Thing and kept the property from being licensed until recently.

There's also the endo-skeleton "feature", but there have been figures already released in Japan with similar gimmicks, so I don't consider it a revolutionary breakthrough like Toy Guru made it seem.

Personally, I'm into the posable Voltron, since I already have two versions of him that combine and wouldn't mind a smaller one that can do straight-up action poses.

But I understand your point.

I doubt it. Considering it's an SDCC exclusive and all.

But it definitely looks great. If I wasn't so unsure of the rest of the GL MM line, I'd pick him up immediately.

OrionPaximus 05-02-2011 08:56 AM

Alan Moore does not own the rights to Swamp Thing. DC comics owns them. The character was in the Vertigo Universe for a time, and thus not available to Mattel. Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson created Swamp Thing in 1971.

Optimus Vader 05-02-2011 11:07 AM

Does anyone know if the same diorama that comes with the SDCC Stay Puft will come with the version that'll be sold on Matty's site? That's half the reason I want that figure.

Ah. I knew it had something to do with Mattel's access rights to the property, and Moore's been kinda dickish about things like that, so I probably merged those tidbits in my head.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

stanmarsh917 05-03-2011 09:18 AM

Aw man,I was looking forward to getting that Kilowog! Why do all the good toys go to SDCC? :(
