Iron Man 2 Mandarin Wave ?

Curious, is the Mandarin wave htf ?

I just picked up the wave and was thinking of doing some repaints and sell them...or maybe sell them as is ?

jamesmruddy 08-11-2011 10:34 AM

I never saw it in stores and I hunted all over for it. Finally picked it up on bbts.com.

It may yet make it to the East Coast - probably via Ross or TJ Maxx - but it has been seen on the West Coast. It is most likely due to retail stores not being able to sell through their IM2 stock that they didn't order this wave or the proposed wave behind it (with War Machine and Iron Man with removable helmets). This was a terrible case of too many IM armors, not enough diversity and just not that much demand for a figure that was essentially released 3 or 4 times previous within the MU figures and comic packs.

omega145 08-11-2011 10:48 AM

I've never seen the Mandarin wave in stores. Ill take the Mandarin off your hands if you dont want him, :). Only figure I need left from that toy line.

Robogeek28 08-11-2011 11:05 AM

I still hold out hope of finding Mandarin someday. *sigh*

felks22us 08-11-2011 11:15 AM

well If you ever want to sell one Im down for it still cant find this guy in store. that wave is totally hard to find . man why o why .

Tiberius 08-11-2011 11:22 AM

I know I will find him one day. Appearently around my area my buddy has seen a lot of Cyborg War Machines. So I think I will find Mr Orange when I least expect it.

WindsofHorus 08-11-2011 11:41 AM

A Toys R Us a little ways up the Highway has about 9 pegs packed from front to back of about the same 4 figures.. All movie armors.. I've never seen anything but the first wave.

My TRU has 24 pegs (counted them) packed, and another 3 of the same deluxe figure on clearance (clearance my butt, $1 off isn't gonna move those...)

bmorr 08-11-2011 12:54 PM

im not holding my breath to ever see that awesome wave in any of my stores. not until marvel figs are seen at mashalls or tj maxx.

Symbiote 08-11-2011 01:03 PM

I'd also be interested in mandarin and ultimate iron man. I missed out on the bbts reorder anticipating funding them at sdcc but they didn't have anything.

ghostdog0081 08-11-2011 01:38 PM

I never saw them in the wild either and I picked up mine from BBTS, kept mandarin and sold the rest.

well, I figure that they will have to end up somewhere - maybe Disney World? (Disney owns Marvel) - which is why I wonder about a discount store getting them, much like GI Joe vehicles that have been canceled in recent months or Transformers RTS more recently (Hasbro has been cozy with discounters, particularly Ross, lately). Who knows? But since the movie has been out of the theaters for over a year now, I doubt stores are ordering more figures, which means these are like the lost ark, locked in cases in a warehouse somewhere :)

my lack in sucess in finding good MU is the opposite for transformers. I scored all i needed from marshalls in terms of RTS: Grapple, Perceptor, and Wreck Gar. Bought all the new generations stuff off of HTS.

I effin hate them too. I called target regarding the latest mu wave and the guy said they had a bunch of dr strange figures. He asked if he should hold one for me but also said they had a lot. I told him that I was going to go there to just get one but if some bitch came and tried to nab all of them to slap him around before I got there. Damn scalpers. I want a mandarin and ultimate iron man figure so bad.

Boba Fettuccini 08-11-2011 03:28 PM

I really get having a bit of markup if you're selling... collecting is an expensive hobby, and a lil profit here and then to ease the wallet pain is fine. But if I'm selling something people want, I'm thinking like... $14-20, tops. It pissed me off to see the first Sif figure on ebay with a $65 buy it now.

bmorr 08-11-2011 03:48 PM

i know we like to gripe about scalpers, but its the desperate nerds with deep pockets that keep buying from them are to share the blame for keeping the scalpers in business to begin with.

What this guy said, I mean personally if I had to constantly relist an item due to no bidding you'd think maybe lower the price. But you can some anxious person with deep pockets who wants to be the first and only cat on the block to have it first ruins it for us all. I believe this line is still available on bbts. But I would want ultimate IM, Comic whiplash, and Mandarin, that' cyborg/battle damaged war machine is a meh.

domshen 08-11-2011 06:10 PM

I found ultimate iron man and the mask less war machine at Bi-Mart last night for $5.99 a piece

D00MTR0N 08-11-2011 06:19 PM

vhtf,it had a super limited run at retail, still waiting on it to show up at discount

felks22us 08-11-2011 06:28 PM

Symbiote I fell your pain dude I so want to score that wave from IM2 as well so hard to find them out there tho price is well to much for them and BBTS dont even have any have them in stock ugh.

Symbiote 08-11-2011 06:44 PM

I've seen decent prices for ultimate iron man, its fricken mandarin that is way inflated in price due to its rarity like solid vision or x force warpath. I know its all part of the gig here and I'm just venting is all.

Autobot_Goldbug 08-11-2011 06:44 PM

Where did you find it TTT?

Tiberius they have been found at Winners in Canada. Check there or if you have a Marshalls.

Nothing in the U.S. yet. However the last concept wave is showing up at some Targets.
So they may show up yet.
