The "WOW FACTOR"

Other then buying toys online or at retail outlets, another source to find them is through fleamarkets, garage sales, buy sell and trade, family member finds something or is given something and gives it you because they know you collect it, and you're left thinking OMG, this is amazingly rare and they're only asking $2!!!! SOLD! My mom is a housing manager at a mental health facility and when members move out, anything left is to be kept by personal or thrown in trash or repurposed. She came home 1 day with a stack of comics and a bag full of toys. The bag had mostly shitty fastfood type toys, but there was a few decent toys 1 being a g1 optimus complete and nr mint, sold it for $200 to a local collector, and the comics were a complete set of secret wars series 2, which I still have. I've found toybiz, iron man figures, ML for cheap sometimes, but it's honestly a hunt all on it's own. Because most of the time your not going to a yard sale with a giant sign saying toys. You walk down isle 17 at walmart and you know your looking at toys. Go around the corner and 2 houses down, lil timmy is selling his g1 transformers,gi joes and marvel figures for 1-2$/figure. You just never know, anybody strike the wow factor and may not be toys.

u can strike gold anywhere. i got a loose ML juggernaut from a yard sale for $5. it was in california and a long time ago but still "there's gold in them thar hills" lol

My brother and I found a series 1 ML Captain America for 2$. Loose, but had shield so it was SO worth it =3.

No offense to smokers, but my only gripe when finding figures this way is when they're from a smoker's home and they absolutely reek of nicotine and there's just about no way to get that stench out.

As long as it's reefer, its cool, right? :P

I usually make sure the item doesn't ship from a smoker's home. I think it depends on how much they smoke and whether they smoke in the house. I've gotten items that reek and have a noticble discolouration, but also some that just have a slight stench. In which case, I just put it in a bag with some activated charcoal and it seems to do the trick in removing the odor.

I don't know, I suppose I did keep the SDCC Sentinel in spite of it's vest smelling like Mary Jane (Not Watson). :p

I smoke both, but only green indoors, cigs are outside or at work, it makes the place stink 2 bad and coats stuff. plus if I have a puff it's quickly killed with Febreeze. But honestly if you go to a fleamarket and find a ML deadpool figure and the guy says $5 you're not gonna pick it up and sniff it then say ok lol. You're gonna buy it and run lol, and when you get home if it stinks give him a bath was it in lukewarm water with soap hell even alcohol if u want, just don't scrub 2 hard and soak 2 long and it'll be fine.

I heay ya on that. I bought a bunch of WWF LJN figs on ebay years ago and they all needed to be washed because of smoke residue. Cigarette smoke sucks! I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. I do enjoy a J from time to time.

I have been given some of the most amazing toys from friends and parents. My mom gave me a 1983 MOC He-Man and a friend of mine just gave me a MIB jetfire and mickey mouse CC along with other jems from the bottom of his childhood toy box. I would have never been able to afford them. Jetfire and He-man can be seen here. He-Man a lil covered up but he's there.http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSCN2396.jpg
