What are you reading and is it any good?
I've been reading the ongoing Transformers comics and enjoying them a lot more lately now that James Roberts is writing. I hope this trend continues
Other than that, Uncanny X-Force. It's outstanding. I recommend. I want to pick up the Age Of X Trade but haven't had the extra cash. and you? |
I've been reading a lot of threads on Toyark lately.

Been reading the Boba Fett Omnibus and it's great! Love the old school artwork, although the characters are quite exaggerated from time to time, but such were comics from back in the day.
Looking forward to reading the Jodo Kast story arc the most! 5/5 easily! |
I just finished Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and it was quite good. Check it out if you have the time.

Anyways, Mighty Thor and Journey Into Mystery owns. Odin headbutts Galactus. the new Cap books are annoying me in the fact that they are just rehashing the origins AGAIN. Why they're not doing a story about Steve hunting down Sin is beyond me. Im waiting on the new moon knight trade, as well as the new FF stuff. FF owns also. Avengers is being kind of slow, but academy is the best of all of them easily. |
has anyone read The Walking Dead Omnibus? That thing is HUGE, but a great graphic novel.
|
I've been reading House of M and the after series.
|
I have been reading Ultimate Spiderman and for the most part it is pretty good.

Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus vol. 1.
It is awesome. |
I have been reading Brightest Day. I mean, EVERYTHING Brighest Day, tie ins and all. I am really, really enjoying it =3.
|
I've been reading Matt Fraction's current run on The Mighty Thor, I'm not much in terms of knowing how this stand with a lot of modern Thor stories, but I'm enjoying it a lot.

Wolverine- Fucking amazing.
Daken Dark Wolverine- Was good but the current arc involves him being a drug addict. I like Daken that's calm cool and manipulative not a fucking junkie but the book still has hope. X-23- Fuckin great as well. Uncanny X-Force- Best book on the shelves right now. Avengers- Yeah Bendis sucks and the some of the stories are whack but I'll always love the Avengers. Deadpool- Another one of those books that use to be great but aren't doing so good right now due to poor writing. BUT I will always love Deadpool he's like my favorite since I was a kid. Hulk- Some people hate him, some people love, and I'm one of the latter I think Red Hulk is great and Pak has been doing some fucking amazing work on the character. |

Just Finished Age of X and it seemed House of M'ish to me. That's not to say it was bad...just seemed like we've been through something like this before.
The aftermath of Age of X is interesting, although I haven't finished it yet. Just read Carnage: Family Feud and the most recent HC of Future Foundation. Both were good reads, FF leaves you hanging though in the HC I read. |
tf's novel called exodus.

Avengers Academy - By far the best Avengers title
Daredevil - I didn't really care for Shadowland, but I am liking Waid's take on DD so far. |
Just finished (all TPBs & HCs I picked up from Borders during their closing sales):
Marvel -Daken/X-23 Collision (loved it) -Re-reading my X-Force collection - again (the X-23, Warpath, etc. team) -Are there any Uncanny X-Force TPBs out?? DC -Secret Six: Cats in the Cradle (recommended for "Who The F*** is Catman?!" people) -Green Lantern: Secret Origin (a little iffy, but enjoyed it) -Black Lantern Corps, Vol. 2 (gave me some newfound love for some old/obscure JSA guys) -Brightest Day, Vol. 2 (waiting for Vol. 3....) Top Cow -Witchblade: Redemption Vol. 2 (also loved this - art is AMAZING!) -Artifacts Vol. 1 (wasn't fond of most of the art) Oh, and I've been pretty into the Claymore manga series, as were discussing graphic novels and such. Can't hurt to have variety. All were great in my opinion, though that probably won't count for much - I wouldn't know what great is when in regards to a comic book. If I like it, I think it's good. I base my purchases primarily on art and I'm pretty picky sometimes. I can't just stand there sifting through the whole book to check the writing. |

Thunderbolts too. Journey Into Mystery is the single best comic made by either Marvel or DC. The new Thor series has been great for Thor's ballsy attitude and the INSANE fight with the Surfer! What a couple of horse's asses! LOL! The only annoyance is that fracton makes Loki a toddler and it just does not mesh with the sophisticated Loki from Journey Into Mystery. The more I read cap, the more it's the same lame story- Brubaker uses the formula of "re-tell the origin while adding some twist and new villian retconned into the modern age to fight Cap". It's the same thing they puke out with EVERY Black Widow series- every single one! My new love is the new Punisher comic. I've not been a Punisher fan since high school (the 90's!) but this...is fantastic. It's mostly about what goes on around the Punisher's activities and the characters involved- so far frank has not said a word and it's on issue three! (which my LCS sold out of and now I have to wait a damn week to get!). Great art too some newcomer to the comics world that can actually draw a realistic scene. |
